I just opened my sealed copy of mk2 for the sega genesis on began to play it for the first time. It seemed to play perfect encept a red pixel was on the press start p2 thing. But as I got farther in the game there was invisability issues with characters that don't turn invisable, even mine. Then both at once invisable. It froze a bit later, then I took it out and blew on it good. It froze twice more this time and even faster. Does the nomad have any issues with certain games? or is there nothing I can do about this?

I did like 10 times. I must have a cart that the heat got to or somehing. It's a shame, it was brand-new too. I don't want to return it, but it keeps rutning invisable and killing me. I've seen the backgound glitch up too. I think I'll keep it anyway and get a good working cart

Having to reinsert carts into a Nomad is completely normal so I doubt it has anything to do with your copy of MK2. Have you tried cleaning the contacts in the system itself?

BTW: MK2 is a sweet experience on the Nomad and one of my favorite titles to use with the system.

Its not your MK2 its the nomad... I have 2 of them and have had them for many years. The nomad has problems with game doing may different things like that it very unstable. When you play make sure you sit still. Just the slightest jostle can mess a game up.

I wouldn't advise blowing on your game's contacts. I was at a friend's house once and he had like 4 or 5 SNES games that wouldnt work. I cleaned them with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. MAN! That Q-tip was like entirely black on both ends before I dried it (this was for each of the games). When I asked him how they got so dirty, he replied that it's probably because he blows on them to clean them. You wouldn't blow on your precious NeoGeo games, would you? I should hope not!

Your friend must be a hillbilly that chews on tobacco all day and never brushes his teeth.

Good sujestion. Its a quick fix but that dust all dosent come out of the cart. It actually puts a lot of it where it shouldnt be.

I owned a nomad before with mk2 back in 95 I think, but the mk2 never gave me trouble like this. also the only problems it ever gave me were the resetting when you hook it up to a tv and move it. They aren't meant to be used w/ tv's. Do nomads get worse with age?

He means the contacts with the Q-Tip and alcohol. The method works, old game retail game remedy for finicky games. If that doesn't do the trick I'd get another MK II cart... they can't be that expensive anymore.
