I was so hyped on this game after seeing the trailer over at koei web site. Went and got the game, got home and started playing......dear god

With Crimson Sea it seems that koei tried to blend Dynasty Warriors 3 with Phantasy Star Online, which at first sounds really cool. Unfortunately the final product is quite poor.
The stages are set up in a linear fashion, so you basically must kill every single little enemy before you can move on to the next section Even in linear games such as Gungrave you're allowed to move on to the next area if you don't kill every enemy.
Controls?...robotic and mildly responsive. Koei decided to throw out the wonderful 3D movement found in DW3 & PSO, and instead use a control method similar to RE. This method is a little more refined yes (forward for forward, back for back), but the rate your character turns is comparable to a snail. To compensate, koei uses the popular 180 degree quick turn...which works incredibly well for the enemies coming from behind. But for those enemies approaching from the side you either have to slowly turn and meet them or run and reposition yourself for the shot.
...oh yah, the story is par for the course and the music is pretty good.
