Mugen engine/creator...

Damn if you could only compile and run that on a DC with the characters available on the bottom. WOW.

C'mon now. Stop bagging on Mugen. After all, Capcom thought highly enough of it that they licensed it to create MvC2. ;)

I've read the article, it just tells you what exactly is Mugen and how to play it. It's basically a Mugen faq in French.

As a game engine, MUGEN is pretty damn good, and quite flexible. Your personal experience with it is determined solely by what you happen to download with it. Daisuke Jigen obviously never tried any characters/stages made by Sander, NeoGouki, Reu, or any number of very skilled and accomplished creators. (Or my own stuff, if I may be so bold.)

Here's a general tip: Never download a DBZ character. An average is very badly impacted by one really low number... similarly, an impression of MUGEN is badly impacted by one really bad character. And just about all DBZ characters for MUGEN are utter garbage.

Can you draw your own sprites with Mugen? Also does it have the fighting engines of vatious games to chose from, or is it it's own engine (if that makes any sense)?

you can draw your own sprites with an illustrating program, and use them in mugen.
