You have to save it to your HDD.

HOLY JESUS GOD!!! YES!!!!

Sorry, I couldn't contain myself for a minute there. OK, Final Fantasy game, cool old style music, super deformed characters, and what looks to be a turn based, old style battle system.

ONE MORE REASON I'M GLAD I HAVE A GAMECUBE!!

Playing this game with my WaveBird will be so fucking awesome, thanks for the vid!

Peace

Oh my GOD!!! That game looks very cool. I can't beleive the water droplet effects. The music was very decent too.

Could it be possible that Final Fantasy may actually return to being a FANTASY game? Oh I hope so.

Any one know how long we have to wait for this one?

Well, im not flaming this game. the art and presentation look great. Its just that for multiplayer console romps, Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance is my kind of gameplay. I dont think there's going to be a better co-op experience.

Plus, no one I know has a GBA; and im sure as hell not going to buy 2-3 more just to experience the game.

It sucks; id really like to play it, but I know I wouldnt get the full effect....so Ill probly just stay away from it.

It had better not be an "old style" battle system. Battle systems that play like they did 10 years ago are the reason I only feel like finishing 5% of the RPGs I buy.

I'd imagine Square will keep true to FF tradition and add a new twist... besides the multi-player focus, I mean. ;)

Looks decent so far, though...

Still, I would've rather seen some video from FFXII. Wasn't that scheduled for 2003 as well? If I didn't know who the team in charge of it was, I'd be worried the lack of exposure would be signalling another FFIX...

WOOT Looks fantastic!!! Definately retains a SFC feel to it. But is it turn based or Action, from what i have seen it must be action and if it is turn based & 4 players how would that work?

What's wrong with turn-based combats?!? They are the sauce of RPGs...

FF IX was a "Fantasy" game but man did the story blow chunks in that. The big thing was supposed to be this crystal, that you don't even get to see untill about the last 20 minutes of the game.

FF X is not a fantasy game. By fantasy I mean knights, wizards, dragons, castles, etc. I'm not saying FF X is bad, it just wasn't a fantasy game.

FF XI, is that even going to come out here in the US. I heared somthing about a PC release, but is it going to be on any of the console systems?

Ahhhhhh just give me FF VI again :D

What? What is it about FF6 that everyone likes so much? Is it really cool? Yes. But why does NO ONE give props to FF4? Maybe the best FF ever made?! <img src="graemlins/envy.gif" border="0" alt="[Envy]" />

No FF IV is not the best... it is the second best. FF IV is one of my favorite games EVER. There is so much to do and find in that game you could play it over 3 or 4 times and have a different adventure every time.

The deal with FF VI is the story. That game is like a really good book. It sucks you in, you don't just feel like your playing a game you can actually feel emotion for it. I remember when I played it for the first time how pissed off I was at Kefka for kicking Ghestal off the Floating Island. Kefka that bastard! He is one of the most evil villans ever in the history of gaming. FF VI is just perfect, but don't let it get to ya' it's just my opinion.

FFIV and FFVI were both awesome. But I'd stick with FFIV just because most of your party is killed off at one point or another, there's so much back stabbing - no one has some childhood trauma bullshit, or split personalities, or half baked psychological mumbo jumbo that some purely computer science educated jap churned out while on his hi tech toilet.

Turn-based isn't the problem - take a look at a new release like Wild Arms 3 and you'll see what I'm talking about. 99% of the game is "attack, attack, attack", and beyond customizing arms (which really turns out to be no different from simply buying new weapon ad nauseum), there's nothing there. One of the reasons the FF series stays interesting is because they throw in twists with character customization, etc.

I think I've purchased pretty much every domestically released console RPG up to this point - I've grown tired of games that make no effort to try new things with the battles or even pay attention to the innovations of the last generation of systems.

I just associate the phrase "classic battle system" to "same as what we were playing 10 years ago". I'm not saying that you can't still make turn based systems fun (like FFX, Jade Cacoon 2, or Suikoden 3 for recent examples).

Wow, you have a very strict definition of "fantasy". ;)

They still keep talking about releasing FFXI on the PS2 sometime in 2003... we'll see. It all depends on the hard drive coming out... It would fit your definition of fantasy to a tee, though, that's for sure.

Jesus, so much for IMHO. lol Let's think about it. FF6 has fewer characters to control in battle. The magic isn't as cool looking (IMHO). Sound effects aren't as good, and the cast... there's some pretty crappy characters in there. And Kefka? Hmmmm...

Yeah, it's great, but FF4... my god. It feels so epic. Something about the game makes you think that everything you're doing is very important. You actually are blown away when SPOILERS... Rydia comes back to save your party, and all the little side quests you can do (spoon dagger, moon weapons, summon monsters).

This is back when FF was actually a kick ass series.

BTW, I watched the videos, and besides the great music, it's not doing much for me.

It seems like you have to play with at least another person to enjoy the game on the level that Square is touting. No offense to the.....2 people I know with a GBA and a Gamecubes, but I'm not exactly primed or available to play a game like that for extended or often periods of time.

Anyone who has a gamecube that doesn't have a GBA is a fool.

I've got both, and the link-ups are awesome. :D

Theyre ok. I guess.
Animal Crossing's is completely lame.
Metroid's is cool. But nothing innovative...it just acts like a key.
