Well I picked up the PS2 version when it came out, and I havent stopped playing it. When you pump the music through a good sound system, with subwoofers, you really get drawn into the game. While the bass is thumping, and the dual shock is rumbling, you sort of go into a trance like state after playing for a long period of time.
Now recently I scored a new copy of the Japanese DC version, and I did a side by side comparison. The game itself looks the same on both systems. In the area of control, I have to admit that the PS2 controller with its built in vibration feature feels better than the DC with a rumble pack. Now on to the most important aspect of both the games-SOUND. It's strange, but the DC version sounds cleaner than the PS2. I actually was using optical out on my PS2 so you would think that it would sound better coming through my stereo, but thats not the case.
All three ranges(low, mid, high)just sound crisper. The bass coming out of my subs sounds sharper and clean, and mabye it sounds that way since the DC doesn't have any optical out, but I like it.
