I already received my metal ddr pad from redoctane! I chose ground shipping and ordered on thursday and received on saturady! I have a question about the metal pad; is it supposed to make a cracking noise sometimes when you hit the buttons?

Please post how you find it as you start using it...
I'm thinking of getting one, as I'm getting tired of the soft pads...

The metal pad is a big improvement compared to my cheap 15 dollar intec pad. The mtal pad allows you to play the faster songs with ease. The buttons are very responsive also. I did hear a cracking sound sometimes when i hit my left and down buttons, but i love my pad. I recommend that you order from redoctane if you live in california.

A friend of mine just bought two of these to the tune of $400. I would never pay $200 for a controller. We're talking full size cab for around that price, and I'd rather have a common arcade game than a controller for a freakin' Playstation game. I don't mean to be mean; that's just my preference and my income (or lack thereof). If that's what you wanted, more power to ya. DDR just isn't my thing.

I'm just gonna deal with taping my 15 dollar one down till I can afford a new expensive one. Sounds pretty sweet though :)

It is kind of loud, but if you use it in your room with your door closed, it won't be loud to others.

Hey EVIL NICK and EMAGDNIM, just to let you know my left arrow button stopped working, and i had to solder a wire back on the pad to make it work again.

I just played for a few hours on one of those RedOctane pads. Ick :( Those things are really flimsy pieces of crap for that much money. They bend and flex and don't have the proper supports for doing doubles. Stepping on the outside of any arrow causes the pad to bend permanently. I'll buy one when they're actually worth the cost.

Hey EVIL NICK and EMAGDNIM, DO NOT BUY THIS PAD! It fucking sucks. I have only had for about a month and it is fucking dead! the wires got pulled out from the main chip and some of the wire is still stuck in it. THIS PAD FUCKING SUCKS!

on the subject of pads, I played on one of these at a friend's place this last weekend:

<a href="http://www.cyphergames.com/50501047.html" target="_blank">http://www.cyphergames.com/50501047.html</a>

I've gone through quite a few pads at home and they've been pretty ass, but this one was definitely the best I've played on. Those "Version 2" Ignition pads are much "foamier" than the regular ones and they proved to be much more responsive... I passed the 8-song "Club Trax" Oni course on DDRMAX USA on my first try...

it did do some sliding around when I played MAX300 though, but I guess that's understandable

at only $30 I think I might just pick up one of those... even though I rarely play DDR at home any more, but this might get me back into it...

Just build your own, that's what I did.

It's not hard at all...costs you between
100-150 but you do it yourself so if some
crazy thing goes wrong, you can fix it by
yourself. I've had mine for about 6 months
now...I also have two of the BNS ultra DX
mats...1 in. insert...they work after lots
of beating.

Again, just build your own, not hard.
