Has anyone played this? (cough cough Shou-sama)
I want more info about it! This was a 2D fighter by members of the original KoF team. I'd love to see screen shots or any kind of info....PLEASE?

I think EvilWasabi may have played this, check with him. I remember a discussion came up when someone was selling this PCB in the Forums a month or two ago.

Its Emulated on Mame get the rom from www.mame.dk its a pretty expensive board and although it looks very nice (for 1998 at least) it sux big time in the Gameplay Dept, its very slow moving and is almost like a 3d fighter . I was gonna pick it up but thank god for roms, saved me quite abit there once again!

I own it. I like it a lot.

http://www.twin.ne.jp/~itohaji/daraku.htm

use the top frame to navigate. the main page is the BBS, so don't get discouraged. Sometimes the posters will try to communicate with you, if you write in english, but it's pretty much Japanese only.

The team that made Daraku Tenshi also went on the work on KoF 99 and '00.

The game was never really finished though, it looks very good, but it's not finished. The team ran out of funds, one of the main programmers checked into a mental home, and they had to put it on the market no matter what. So it's missing 3 characters, the sound seems a little unrefined (like, way too midi for my tastes...). And then the kicker is that there's no way to play as the bosses. That's what really gripes me.

There are often bootleg kits for sale. I have the real kit from psikyo, it's good, and you should be able to find it for $200~$300.

by the way, regarding the playing speed, you'll notice a few things:

jumps are not that high.

movement seems to be actual - as in the speed is reflective of how fast people really move, and the frames reflect that.

hardly any projectiles or fucking impossible moves. I mean, you should be able to see yourself doing any of that stuff except Harry's cannon arm because well, he's got the cyborg arm.

It's good. It just doesn't seem that deep to me. I could be wrong.

Wasabi brought the board over here once. I really enjoy it and plan on picking it sometime in the future if I'm able. Odd though since I'm not a huge KOF fan especially the recent ones.

I recall reading on a Japanese message board that The Fallen Angels was produced by the staff that left SNK during KOF99 development. You can see that FA is an evolution of KOF's system. It uses a 4 button setup with similar combos and an evade that is a mix of KOF95's sidestep/attack and KOF96's roll. Cool = K'? Harry = Maxima? Haiji = Yashiro? The game does feel a bit unfinished like EvilWasabi stated. I just wonder what KOF could have been with this kind of overhaul.

I downloaded the ROM for this title, and it runs like shit, but I'm glad I can at least get a look at it. It's a really drastic departure visually, but I appreciate it, since it goes the WHOLE nine yards with those weird edgy sci-fi-ish characters instead of having the likes of K' and Krizalid alongside Bao and Athena. Cool stuff, and I hope I get a chance to play the real thing someday.

the real deal does not play like shit...

There is a chain combo system though.

Like I think for Haiji one combo is

weak kick, strong kick, strong punch, QCF+punch

I had a faq I wrote for this before but before I could send it to gamefaqs my computer died, and I didn't feel like translating all those fucked up move names.
