While at the mall earlier today, I went into the arcade called Castle something just to have a look around and what a look it was. It's not a very big arcade as it only has about 12-15 games, but practically every machine in the place was a Sega Dreamcast title. To name a few, I saw Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Street Fighter 3, Virtua Tennis, and Royal Rumble. It just kind of shocked me to see these games still bringing in cash since most people would consider them "past their prime". But best of all, most of the titles are only for the DC and always will be. That's just a testament to the quality titles Sega makes each year. So are DC games still kicking around in arcades near you?

ym arcade has less than 1/4 of thier machines as dreamcast titles. this is because I go to a good arcade that respects what people want. This is slo why a few of the arcade games are big screen with a wide joystick panel. games such as 3rd strike, cvs2, ggxx. but my arcade seems to have a massive amount of imports for some reason. I like the variety

I wonder if any of the arcades are using one of those arcade Dreamcast interfaces?

actually those would be Naomi boards not Dreamcast, big difference in ram and polys per second and espicially in price and maintenance, obviously.

Games like F355 deluxe have 3 Naomi boards running in them , so does the jumbo jet simulator and the F-14 game.

I get what you mean bye DC titles though.

just being anal ...lol

No problem, but I have a question I've always wanted to ask someone in the know. Are the Naomi ports for the DC really arcade perfect or 99.9% perfect as some would say?

I don't know about naomi ports however look at VF3 to DC transition and not all is arcade perfect.

From what I have played at home and spent time in the shop with I would say yes they really are, the differences mainly being the DC dosent really have the ram to support the more complex textures and the DC games usually get something extra to add more indepth gameplay to the mix.

But yes for the most part they really are extremely close to the Naomi , espicially the fighters.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 came out for PS2. Just giving you a heads up.

Anyway, I have an arcade thats similar to that. I remember it had a Metal Slug 3 cab there but they took it out since there was few people who played it.(Those bastards) I was one of the few who played it and actually got far into the game, up to the point of the final boss. I wanted to beat it the following week but they took it out, that really pissed me off.

Not all Naomi ports to the DC are perfect.Crazy taxi has pop up issues and some slowdown problems not found in the naomi version. The arcade version also looks more sharper, cleaner and not to mention smoother. No loadings too.

Virtua Tennis is a perfect port though.100% identical to the arcade version.

Naomi actually has twice the main RAM the DC has.The reason why DC is able to create perfect or near perfect ports is because of the similar architecture.DC is like a stripped down naomi. Its not the same.
