Britney Spears on CNN

Im not even going to ask WHY CNN deemed it news worthy to have Britney Spears on. Im not even going to ask why Tucker Carlson asks the... 22 year old (?) about her view on the Iraq war. But I cant get her response out of my head...

"CARLSON: You're going to be on the National Mall [in Washington, D.C.] soon performing for Pepsi and the NFL and also to support our troops. A lot of entertainers have come out against the war in Iraq. Have you?

SPEARS: Honestly, I think we should just trust our president in every decision he makes and should just support that, you know, and be faithful in what happens."

I mean I dont look to Britney Spears for political guidance. And I sure as heck dont look to her for music. But this has to be the most nieve statment ive ever heard. Lets all be blind sheep! YAY! Dont think for yourself kids, just follow and never ask questions.

To be fair though she's probably just trying to say something that wont cause any negative publicity. But still, thats a stupid comment no matter what side of the issue your on.

Actually, I kind of agree with her stance. There is nothing wrong with it. Had someone we liked have said it, im sure we wouldnt be so gung ho on bringing it down.

The real tragedy in that quote is that she probably doesn't even have a real opinion about what's going on...she's just mindful of her corporate pimps, and what they'd prefer she say.
Either that or she is just one more mindless conservative bonesmoker.

I dont think it has anything to do with the fact that Brit said it, but -what- she said. Following someone without question is a sure recipe for getting yourself screwed because -everyone- mucks up eventually.

I think everyone is giving her way too much credit. Maybe, just maybe, she really doesn't have an opinion on it because she's a complete maroon. Of course, not wanting to piss anyone off is probably also a strong factor in this as well.

Who the hell wants to know about Britney Spears' opinion on something like this? Celebrities are worthless people who should never be covered in the news, since everything they do doesn't matter. For example: "OMG Britney Spears is a lesbian, front page news for the next two weeks, ASL!?" Shit, there are lesbians in my school, why don't they make the front page news? She's a singer, so what? Is she special? No. Who the hell gives a shit about her sex life? I don't, and no one else should either.

It's just like that damn what's her face that was kidnapped months ago. Who gives a shit, why is she on the news all day, everyday? There are 329483242903094 other kids missing in the world, and that number increases everyday. Oh, ok, so the kid is rich, that makes her special? No. WHO GIVES A FUCKING SHIT ABOUT HER!? Yes, it's a terrible thing, but at the same time, it doesn't matter to the rest of the world since the rest of the world has more inmportant things to worry about other than the safety of one person who they can't do anything about... Hell, the rest of the world didn't even know of her existance before this. Yet, despite all this, people still were talking about it everywhere.
