Warhammer 40K fans: Fresh kill on the PS2 and PC Sept 10th!!

UK Developer Kuju Entertainment and publisher THQ are brining Warhammer 40K to the PS2 and PC on Sept 10th!

Titled Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior, the new title is a FPS with all the elements from the classic pen and paper version included. 21 levels and 15 diffrent armaments that span the Imperium, the Tau and the Chaos legion.

I know alot of you are grumbling about this new title being a FPS, but here's a bright spot for you. Games Workshop worked closely with the developer (Kuju Entertainment) and signed off on each and every aspect of the game.

As an oldschool fan of WH40K and Space Hulk I'm all kinds of psyched for this game. I don't think this game is going to break any sales records or blow the doors off of any of the other next gen games, but it looks and sounds like its going to be a hell of a lot of fun. Suit up Marines, the Imperium needs you!!

A bunch of UK games mags have reviewed it.
It mostly got scores arround the 75%-85%, though PSM2 were a bit harsher and gave it something like 62%.

Bottom line is that it's a decent FPS, but nothing overly special.
Certainly no Halo-killer.

Dunno about a FPS, but the first 2 PSX wharhammer strategy games, particularly the first were 100% great.

There were 2 WH40K games for the PSX? I thought Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels was the only one.

He's talking about the 2 Warhammer Fantasy games that came out, both were strategy titles. Space Hulk was the only 40k title that I know of.

I used to play both years ago, but it got too expensive, and too time consuming with painting hundreds of models.

What they need to make, is a PC version of each that comes with a basic army. Then you can buy "army packs" to use, or trade with your friends. It should feature all the units from the game. Online play is also a must, imagine the possibilities. They could release expansion packs every so often with new campaigns, heroes and battlefields. If GW could find a good developer for a project like that, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
