I saw it last night and thought it sucked a big one. I love all the other Trek movies and this one is the worst. Nothing really happened. And the "Mirror" concept got old before the movie even started. The enemies, while cool looking, were boring.
All the other Trek movies are story and character based. This one is action based, and the action isn't all that good. And the ending! CRAP! First of all its a rip off of Start Trek 2 in so many ways, it IS funny. Second: SPOILER!!

Killing off Data was such crap. The only reason it was done was to manipulate the audience into thinking that it was a good powerful movie. There was no good reason to do that. Fuck, I liked Data, he fucking ruled! He's been pretty much the main character for the past three movies. Killing him was just stupid. At least they covered their ass's with B4.

I, on the other hand, thought Star Trek Nemesis was excellent. It is, in my opinion, right up there with Star Trek 2 as the best Trek film ever.

I thought the concept was great. An evil clone of Picard that was made to replace him after the Romulan's killed him? What a great fucking idea.

I love how they showed the flashback to Shinzon's childhood to show why he turned out the way he did. Too often in Trek films the main villan just seems to be very two dimensional as a character and we know way too little about them. I felt that Shinzon was the best villan since Khan.

Data dying will obviously be controversal, but it was done soooo well. It was totally unexpected until only a few seconds before it happened. I can't believe they kept it a secret for so long! Well done.

Unlike SuperDuperSpork, I thought the whole Data death thing was done in great taste, and really DID help the movie feel more powerful.

And yeah, the movie IS full of action, but like I said there is also a lot of character depth as well. And not only with Shinzon and Data and their counterparts, Picard and B4, but with Riker, Diana, and Shinzon's right hand Remen.

Also the great thing about Nemesis was that Shinzon and Picard had a one on one showdown to end it, the way it should be. Same with Riker and the Remen. This was the main thing missing from Star Trek 2... no Kirk vs Khan fight. They got it right here at Nemesis.

I just can't enough about how much I loved the movie. I'll be seeing it again on Wednesday before I see The Two Towers.
