A friend of mine picked up Pacc-Man World 2 cheap out of the bargain bin the other day. I didn't expect much from it, but I came out pleastnly suprised.
The graphics are high-rez and detailed, with bright lush worlds full of toadstool houses, and plant life. The control is tight, simple, and dead on. the left analog stick or D-Pad controlls pac, and you use one button to jump.
The camera is not a problem, and tracks amazingly well. Not once did it get stuck behind anything, or make me jump at an odd angle because I could not adjust it to swing behind me.
The gameplay is about what you'd expect from Pac-Man in 3d. dots are strewn about in a 3D world, over and around objects. A new option for Pac is to jump. Pac can jump up on top of objects to reach fruit that appears, to get away from ghosts, or to grab more power pellets. You don't have to eat all the power pellets to advance, but your score goes higher if you do. Also returning are the power pills. Eating a power pill allows you to eat your enemies, the spooky ghosts, and the Pac-wolf from the old Pac-Man cartoon series.
This is a great game, and not one I would have ever picked up on my own. I should adjust my tastes, as this is not one to pass on, even if you just rent it.

Won $50 for it, too. I got Thrash Rally with the money.
