Ok, so I am not a big Michael Moore fan, and I really have no desire to see this movie... but it is getting amazing reviews, and has a (currently) 98% on rottentomatoes.com... has anyone here seen it, would you recommend it?

Its funny, the reason I got to thinking about this movie is that I saw Michael Moore at work on Friday (I work in MGM for another company that has office space there) and he was very friendly and sparked up a conversation with us in line waiting to get some grub... he seemed like a cool guy, and I got to thinking maybe he wasn't as annoying as I thought :)

So blah, whats up with his movie?

I saw it about a month ago, and really enjoyed it. Equal parts intense hilarity and sadness. It isn't simply a two-hour polemic against the NRA as some people like to paint it, in the film he really is just trying to figure out what the fuck is so horribly wrong with Americans in general. Very much worth seeing.

I have yet to see this movie. Sounds like it would be worthwile.

I've seen bits and pieces of TV Nation and The Aweful Truth on cable. It gets you thinking. Has anyone read any of his books?

I wanted to see it, never got around to it with all the work I've been up to.

A bunch of people I know have seen it and liked it. Again, reiterating the above, it sounds to be aimed at the decay of American culture rather than an anti-gun movie (from what I understand, Michael Moore was already an NRA member). It's just that the more extreme NRA folk really make great fodder for the embarrasing kookiness of American culture.
