I just ordered a new Duo from Turbo Zone Direct. Since they said that a lot of the pads are TurboGrafx pads I started to worry about them tampering with the contents. This was compounded by the fact that they sell the Y's I and II disc without manual on their website. Before I get really pissed, could someone please tell me that their listed "New in Box" Duos actually have the games that were originally included?

Wow, thats complete bullshit! I wonder if there's some corrolation between the games not being boxed in and them selling the boxed in versions on their site? I'm never buying from them again.

On a related note, does anyone here have an extra copy of Y's I and II that they'd be willing to let go of?

I remember asking them once (two years ago) if the TurboDuo systems came with the pack-in games. The response I got was something to the effect that Turbo Technologies pulled all the pack-in games from systems just before they stopped selling the systems in the US around the end of 1994. This didn't make much sense to me, so I didn't buy one.

I think it was actually TZD that did the actual removing of the games. Why would TT remove the games from the packaging when they killed the system? That explanation made no sense to me.

Yeah, that makes no sense. They're selling "New in Box" Turbo Duos that have "converted Turbo pads" and "The Turbo Duo does not include the outer shrink wrap with the printed band that described the pack-in." It strikes me as a little odd that something "New in Box" has converted pads and no shrink wrap. It must be some kind of coincidence that they also don't have the boxed in games yet sell "new" versions of the games without manuals on their site for $30. Methinks that there are some dishonest business practices going on here.

Oh well, at least I know it'll get here. I think I can pick up the box-ins cheap from my friend that sold his Turbo.

yup I do :) I have a few Super CD games...etc.. Godzilla, Wanderers from Y's 3 & 1/2, Lords of Thunder....etc.

Email: sales@egameaddiction.com
if you are interested :)

TZD is not a bad place. Last time I checked, they said exactly what is included....etc.

thanks,

Umm... TZD I believe is made up from the remnants of TTi. Or at least they handled the service/repair contracts. ;)

tzd is just selling left over stock. not everything was made on a 1:1:1 basis. theyre going to end up with too much of one component and not enough of another.

i think theyre almost running out of stock on some stuff.

Just as long as I get a TurboDuo before they're gone, I'll be HAPPY! :D

PS: It notes that there are no pack-ins with the Duo, whoever e-mailed them about it is a retard. <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" />

Before jumping to conclusions, you should make note that I emailed them about 2 years ago about this. At THAT time, all the description read was "System-new in box" with no further description.

I know a lot of people who have bought from TZD and are 100% satisfied. Don't hesitate.

I have ordered from TZD many times, and I can highly recommend them. Best place to buy Turbo goods.

TZD is THE place to buy Turbo stuff. Don't worry too much about the pack-ins; you won't find a better deal anywhere on the net.

Got my DUO from them 8 months ago. the only bad thign was that they ran out of the pads the duo came with so they gave me the olfer turbo pad with a Converter. not a bad thing really. same kinda pad with maybe a different design. I didnt really care to much since I really wanted this system.

I have issues with the fact that they remove the boxed in games to sell them and then replace the original controllers with converted ones so that they can sell the originals too.

By the way Bluevoodu should totally check his email :)

the didnt remove the packins. the pack ins were never, well packed in.

they would pack the games in when they shipped em out to retail stores and whatnot way back when. this is still the warehouse, thus no package-inage.

theyre BRANDNEW systems.

i mean its crazy opening something for the first time since 93 in the year 01

You can get new Duo's from other places, but you will NOT find any of them with a pack in game!
What you are buying is left over new stock that was never shipped to a retail store, as was already stated.

If you have a problem with a converted TG-16 pad, then tell them to give you a non converted TG pad and buy a TG to Duo adapter then.

If you want Duo with packin games? Then pay $299.99 and you can have everything.

With $199 price tag I will not complain as long as Duo console is in new condition with everything.

Those packin games (Y's Books I & II, 5-in-1 CD game, and a hucard game) are just for promotion purpose to stimulate the sales in the beginning.

So you decide to get a new NEO AES machine (for around $650 +) and you ask seller to give you a packin game like Nam-1975, Baseball Star Professional or Magician Lord because your friend bought Neo in 1991 did come with the game?

You're joking

Well, despite my issues with TZD, my Duo got here in record time. I'm happy enough with it, other than the fact that the jack for the composite cables is all buggered up and has to be messed with to make it no hum or produce funky video. Ah well...

TZD has been highly recommended by a number of people. While I haven't shopped with them personally, I'm planning on putting in a relatively large order to them soon. Also I heard they may be getting more of the Kisado converters in stock, but at $70 it's still cheaper to get a JP Turbografx (or US depending on your Duo system). ;)
