diddy kong racing n64

I added in the code jointventure, and it says it's a valid code for two player adventure. but once I go into adventure, it is still one player. and there is no selection that you enter into in order to do two players. it just goes to character selection for one player, then you start and you still have only one player. can anyone help?? thanks!

Enter a course and you will get a split screen for two players. Its all that happens.

if it were that simple I probably wouldn't have asked. lol! I entered into the courses they had available, and still only one player

have you tried hitting start on controller 2 when the character select screen was up?

I know that sounds easy... but... maybe you didn't do that

well, I took it to gamestop and got it replaced, and now the new one works. thanks guys =)
