And I am now with a cleansed video game soul. Holy crap is this game going to be sweet. The graphics, control, detail, the fact that it's a perfectly done Metroid game! MAN I can't wait to play this. :(

I played the demo at K-Mart, and also think it looks great. I was glad to see that it still "felt" and sounded like a Metroid game. I was very skeptical of a 3D Metroid, and am still looking forward to Fusion more than Prime. I didnt like the controls though. They are going to take some serious getting used to. As far as I could tell, you cant turn and strafe at the same time? Did anyone find a way to do that?
The demo didnt last long. 5 minutes maybe. Maybe with more time I could have figured out if its possible.

does it still have the same tune as super metroid

the intro tune and the main tune

love them - a new spruced up version of that tune would be nice :D

Well...isn't strafing in essence...turning OFF the ability to "turn"??

The one thing they dont allow, is FREE LOOK while you're moving. To look around, you have to stop, and Hold R, then look around.

Hmmm . . what I mean is there is no way to move in a circle around something while looking at it. You can "strafe" left and right, but it order to do that you had to hold down a button and the use the c-stick. Am I making any sense?

i think the controls fit the game a lot better than conventional fps controls would. thats one thing i thought they did right. it still feels like a metroid game this way and not just some me too fps.

props to whoever came up with em.

I think it will play fine with the controls, It will just take some getting used to. With the lock on system you dont need to be as nimble as you would in most FPS.

HECK YAH!!!!!!

When Playing Super Smash Brothers Melee on the Metroid stages, I kept hearing the metroid music. That was taunting me. I have been dying to play metroid since last November!!
I CANNOT WAIT for this. Metroid music is always very well done, and fits the game quite well.

I thought that's what the button was. But you cant turn while you are side-stepping can you? Am I still not making any sense?

Well, that's what side stepping is.. you dont turn as you side step, no. You can let go of the button and turn... lol, but no, not at the same time.

Don't worry people, the controls are great!

He basically wants to be aiming while he's sidestepping...right? in a typical FPS, you would push both joysticks in the same direction to achieve this....

im not sure HOW you do it in metroid, but i know you can because i did. *shrug*

oh well, less than a week!

I just got to play the demo at Target, and I must agree, this game will rock much ass!

I was going to wait on it, but now I will definitely go out and buy it on Tuesday! The graphics are beautiful! Unfortunately there was no sound on the one I was playing, so I didn't get to hear any music or effects, but I will on Tues!!!

Yeah, I didn't get to hear any sound either, but from what I hear, the music and SFX are supposed to be just as great. It's hard for me to believe.... man this game's going to kick ass.
