I just played Final Fight 3 on SNES and I've found out several interesting things:

1) Capcom did censor US SNES/GBA Final Fight by removing female fighters (Poison and Roxy) but they didn't remove female fighters in Final Fight 3. Weird........ <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

2) Final Fight 2 & 3 have different artworks from original Final Fight (sega CD and arcade version). I still like original Final Fight artwork (maybe is because of producer NinNin).

3) Final Fight 2 & 3 aren't as fun as original Final Fight IMO. Maybe storylines aren't as good as the first one <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0">

Don't know why but I still play original Final Fight more than 2 & 3

2 and 3 did kinda suck, probably because they both used a new and different engine than 1, or probably it was the SNES's limitations...

Carlson, Final Fight Tough is Final Fight 3 in US.

JPN version is very rare. Get one if you can. Just like US Metal Slug AES.......

Sega CD Final Fight is the best overall, then GBA version of Final Fight One.

Part 2 & 3 are quite boring..........

You got the Jpn. CD?
There was a little bit of censoring on the outfits of the females-the pic of the captured girl in the intro was changed,too! <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

I have JPN Final Fight CD. I hate US version because

1) Voice Acting is goofy.......
2) censorship (no half-naked Poison and Roxy)
3) Box art is ugly

By the way, Japanese Final Fight (Mega CD) version has the same intro as US one.

The captured girl (Jessica) doesn't wear bra in CD version as in original arcade one.

I still love original arcade version......well, Sega (mega) CD one isn't bad. About 99% port from arcade.

The Pal-versions have been censored like the US ones,so i know the difference!
This was mentioned once in the EGM,too...

Herzog Drei, you are right. I'm looking at my JPN Final Fight CD manual and on page 5 it does show Jessica in bra <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

I made a mistake, thank for correction.

But GBA JPN FFOne Jessica has no bra though....

Hehe, how does Final Fight Guy fit into the picture? In the US, it was a Blockbuster video release only (like Clayfighters 2:TE)

It's been awhile, but I thought FF2 was a decent game. 3 was not very good, IMHO.

I think the GBA version is pretty decent.

Final Fight Guy was released in 91 due to Capcom removing character Guy (and elevator level also) from SNES Final Fight.
Gamers cried out and Capcom JPN decided to release a special edition just for Guy. Actually it's exactly the same gameplay/level as Final Fight. When I was in LA in 1991, most import stores were selling this title for $90.

The Blockbuster version of FF Guy was as censored as the original FF-While the Jpn FF Guy had all the females,blood and names(Sodom instead of Katana) as it should be...
Anyone spending $90 for the US FF Guy in the hope of getting an uncensored version this time was in for a bad suprise... <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

that's why I didn't buy either US or JPN Final Fight Guy.

Too bad that Capcom censors US GBA Final Fight One. I just don't understand why they still remove female fighters because US Final Fight 3 did have female fighters in it?

Why Capcom censors the original Final Fight but not Final Fight 3?

I actually liked both FF 2 and 3; though I haven't touched any of my beat-em-ups in awhile. Been too damn busy with X6.

Because very few people know about the censoring. If they put it in for GBA, people will know they got screwed earlier.

Hey Liquid,

I imagine Capcom didn't bother to censor FF3 because by then, Mortal Kombat 2 had broken the 'blood barrier' for the SNES (although technically this had already happened for SF2 first). Once Nintendo gave up trying to be everyone's parent, Capcom probably figured no one gave a shit anymore. Remember the Senate hearings where Nintendo's Howard Lincoln was out to lynch Sega over their allowing MK1 to be released with a blood code? It's amazing how far games have come and what they can get away with nowadays...(GTA 3, heh heh.) <IMG SRC="smilies/eek.gif" border="0">

That's what I thought. Because Capcom released Final Fight 3 in late 94/95 (not sure) and we're about to move to 32-bit era, maybe Capcom was too lazy to make any change at the time.

I've heard Capcom is working on Final Fight 2 to be on GBA. Not sure if it's true......
