Ah yes! I remember TMNT for the NES. That (along with TMNT 2: Arcade) I had just about given up on (that was about over 10 years ago). Solomon's Castle, The Legend of Zelda II, The Last Werewolf (or something along those lines), and Captain America and The Avengers were a few other NES toughies I gave up on. Final Fantasy I (also for the NES) was another one I never finished; since my party was composed entirely of Warriors, I could never get past the third-to-last boss (I think his name was War Mech).
Some Super NES games I gave up on were UN Squadron (never could get past the later levels), Cybernator, Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest (kept on running around in circles, not going anywhere), and Final Fight (if only they had two-player mode and the ability to fight as Guy, then things would've been different).
Vindication will soon be mine, however, thanks to the fact that my friend (and long-time next-door neighbor) Shawn managed to hold on to many of these games and systems (and since there's Internet access in this day and age, I can make use of the many FAQs available). Soon, I'll be able to take back those many hours of my childhood lost to those ultra-frustrating games. Vengeance will be MINE! <IMG SRC="smilies/veryangry.gif" border="0">
By the way, vgmuseum.com has pics of endings for various games (just in case you ever wondered what the endings for those too-tough games looked like).
Also, Verbatum, didja ever get that birthday poster I e-mailed ya?
