Well the game blows nuts. I was actually excited to see another 2d rendition on MK, until I played this. It is pretty much MK3 but a lot shittier. The characters are smaller then I expected and the moves suck to pull off.

It has punch, kick, run, block. I guess I really expected too much from it. Got my hopes up. Dont know why, MKII was the only one I really enjoyed. Bah, my hopes of a decent MK were killed with this shitty game.

Oh well. Try it out if you dare.

Yeah, a lot of people seem to agree with you there NTM!
Midway need a kick in the ass for this!
I love the MK series, so why the hell do they have to fuck up as many as they get right?

I guess its just the "lets get it on the shelves for Xmas even if it still plays like shit" scenario, that we see most every year!

They had better do a good job on the PS2 version of MK5!

Well, personally, I don't like MK series too much--just not my taste. The series should have been killed long ago, IMHO. To it's credit, though, I did play MK II alot.

It should have been killed after II. No other MK could compare to it. The 3D ones were a joke, completely lost the feel. I was very disapointed with the MK3 series... I just pray for a real Mortal Kombat collection to hit a console. I want a perfect port of II damnit.

Well the MK team did not make the GBA game, I think Ed Boon said this, since their all busy making MK 5. Bef it was out, it was easy to tell it was just MK3 on the GBA. by the screenshots.

As for moves being hard to pull off, GBA isn't the ideal system for fighters, I played SSF2X on it, and IMO it had horride control, the D Pad is to stiff, and only 2 face buttons, all fighters should be bad.

There WILL be a MK5?

I thought the series was dead and buried with 4...
..and that 'Special Forces' nonsense was it's gravestone!

The Jamma board of MK2 is pretty damn cheap, I got mine for 35 bucks off ebay with buy it now. But that does require you can play Jamma boards somehow

I actually have MK1 and MK2 on Jamma, but dont have any interest on drilling my Candy's perfect control panel.

Also, my Supergun wont play the MK boards. The video chip on the RGB converter doesnt support the MK's. I have been told that I need a different chip that supports MK2.

I can watch it fine on my Candy, but I never got around to hooking up controls. I should do that damnit.

Well I'd say the Saturn MK 2 is the best port.

Man, what do you expect? The MK series has sucked since the "advent" of MK3. I hadn't even heard of MK Advance until now... LMAO.

By the way, I have a 32X version of MKII with the original box and a B&W copy of the instructions (got ripped off on that). I only want to get rid of it, so if anyone wants it, let me know and I'll trade for an inexpensive game (DC Power Stone, maybe?).

the saturn version (or any cd version for that matter) sucks, due to the loading times. it just ruins it.
the 32X port is a very good one.

No thanks. Neo Turf Masta, I'll take your word for it. It's a port of MK3.

I like the first MK best. The "Test Your Might" stages where your fighter performs Tamashiwari on blocks of wood, diamond, etc. are a nice touch. Part 3 gets ridiculous (a riot cop as one of the fighters? All these goofy fatalities like Liu Kang dropping a MK1 arcade cabinet on the opponent? ), while MK4 is where the series starts to get pointless.
