UPDATE: The Long Beach Freeway is closed for hours in both directions after a tractor-trailer slams through the center divider and shears a sports utility vehicle in half. At least one is killed and six injured. (LAT)

Hey Bobak, i saw that this morning in the channel 9 new's.
I was late for work my self, and i take the 60 to the 10 fwy, i guess people were just trying to find a diferent way to work

I used to live up in Bakersfield,

the fog up there was so bad that once or twice a winter there would be a (and I'm not making this up) 70-100 car pile up on the freeway because no one could see. There was an 80 car pile up in between Bakersfield and Tehachapi last month.

(these usually happen when a fast car hits a slow car they can't see, then the cars behind them hit the two stopped cars, people in the oncoming lanes on the other side of the freeway see the accident and hit each other because their not looking, and the whole thing just keeps ballooning until you have a major, major problem)

Good thing they hit an SUV.

I absolutely HATE SUV drivers.

They are the rudest, selfish, most inconsiderate people on planet earth.

I have never seen someone driving an SUV EVER practice common decency and courtesy and let another car merge onto a ramp or in a lane.

EVER.

PPL driving big trucks are the exact same way.

Give respect where it is due, and it is not due to these assholes.

I will take offense to that. Not all big truck drivers are fools. I (F150) practice defensive driving and remain a good 3 seconds from the car in front.

There are just some folks out there that think an SUV or Truck driver have enough time to avoid an accident. Remember these vehicles are more heavy and take more time to brake. The problem is people just drive too close.
