Valis 3 comes to mind. The Castlevania Ninja Gaiden Mega Man Hybrid style really clings to me.

And Yuko was hot

General Chaos too that was a fun Stratagy game

any others I'm forgetting?

Ranger Fucking X....Or Ex-Ranza. IT's a game ahead ot it's time.

EGM had mixed reviews:

Martin: 7
Ed Semrad: 9
Steve: 7
Misc reviewer: 7

It's the best looking Genesis game with great game play that requires time and some thought.

At it's heart, it's still a classic Genesis Arcade style game, but it truly went the extra mile.

I forget who developed it though. I wonder what that house is doing now...

Anyways, check it out.

Gain Ground is pretty cool too. As was BioHazard Battle, McDonalds Treasureland Adventure and I'm sure there are many others.

The Sega Genesis was full of surprises, unlike my Supermetroid/Zelda/Mario Machine.

Outrun 2019 was a great game I overlooked until recently... Very sweet racing game for the Genesis with futuristic outrun influences, but I am an Outrun nut, so that may be why I liked it so much,

Haunting: Starring Polterguy

Very cool game for its time. Original and a helluva idea.

I just hated those damn caves where you ran out of ectoblobs. <img src="graemlins/angry.gif" border="0" alt="[Angry]" />

Tecmo's Deception I heard is somewhat like a 3D violent version...

Phelios was cool.

Side Pocket?? I'm not sure how big this one was.

Trouble Shooter (great cover art)

Mega Turrican.

There are so many Genny games out there. I'm sure we can make this list go on and on.

Gau created Ex-Ranza and later turned into the Sega subsidiary, Nextech. They've done Code Veronica and the Saturn port of the first Bio game among others.

Shadow Dancer - I get the impression that this was looked at as some 3rd rate title in the Shinobi series, but I actually liked it the best out of all of them. Great game that I think a lot of people might have overlooked.

Castle of Illusion - Sure, it starred Mickey Mouse, but this game had gorgeous graphics, outstanding gameplay, and was just plain FUN!!

Forgotten Worlds - first generation shooter on the system, but oh such a blast to play! :D My friend and I spent countless hours just playing this one over and over!

Jewel Master! Great, great music, plus some fantastic gameplay. The idea of having rings to mix and match on each hand was cool, in that you could make your own combinations for both hands. Great stuff! :D

Landstalker. Pretty fun and much better than any of the Phantasy Star games on Genesis!

-Moonwalker: Damn fun. Just an amazing game, with a soundtrack that was exactly as good as it needed to be

-Gain Ground

-Crackdown

-TechnoCop (bad, but fun -it's only good if you remember how revolutionary it was at the time)

-EA's College Football series

-Shadow Dancer

-Castle of Illusion (Good call! That game was phenomenal -it blew me away the first time I saw it)

-Lakers vs. Celtics: ported from the PC, it was the game that started it all -it's aged, badly

-Populus: The first god game (it proved you could port a damn good PC game)

-King's Bounty: Another good PC port by EA
