MGS2: Substance review request

Hi all,

Could somebody who has an IGN Insider membership post the score/review of this game? Cuz I heard it got a 9.0, which is interesting because the Ps2 vesion got a 9.7 so I wanna see why (doesn't have to be the whole review just where it talks about the reasons).

i heard of possible slow down in one level as well.

From what I heard it's a great game if you don't have MGS2 for the PS2.

And yeah there is slowdown, On the rain level.

It makes me laugh my ass off that the opening of the game where you're on the rainy boat has slowdown. XBOX is supposed to absolutely destroy the PS2 in terms of performance, and it can't handle the first stage of a game that the PS2 took in stride. Those programmers should be shot.

The game is the same, just with some stupid extras. The Snake Stories aren't as cool as they sound (just extras made up from previous graphics and parts of stages with no story or meaning except for some text before it) and while you can play as Snake throughout the whole game, you don't play HIS side of it, just Raiden's part with Snake, which sucks. The VR Missions add a lot of replay value, however, which was sorely lacking in the PS2 version. So, if you haven't played the game at all, it's an easy recommend. If you have, rent it.

I just bought MGS2 tonight, and I haven't experienced any slowdown in the first level.

could someone find the rumored MGS3 trailer ?

I take back everything I said. The game starts to slow down halfway through the first mission, and it does affect the gameplay. I was told by a friend that slowdown ONLY exists during the boat / rain sequence.

meh..I played through the PS2 version...I'm not going to do it again...
