Yeah XBox is tanking over there, poor guys are missing some good shit for Online. They're more concerned with getting a "smaller" console, I don't know why anyone would care how big it is, the thing isn't very large, there are bigger DVD players out there.

But the US market is a LOT bigger than the Japanese one, I mean we can't help it we like 10x the size of their country.

Still it's kinda sad people there stay away from a LOT of American stuff, Cars, games, consoles. And yet we/I buy so much of their shit, makes me a little sad in a way...

Speaking of this above issue.... it rather funny. I called in to my EB about 2 months ago... they said "Thank you for calling EB, your Xbox head quarters." I knew the guy.. he used to always talk with me on how the cube would dominate.

Well... I laughed when I heard that. He said "whats wrong." I basically said something to the point, did Microsoft buy you out too.
He said that they saying that for each system per month.

well I called back 1 month later... He said the same thing.

Today...... I called on some retail prices, and yet they said the exact same thing "your Xbox headquarters."

I think MS paid EB off if you ask me.

partially has to do with the fact that most japanese living spaces are small to begin with. and eveything else cities buildings people cars all have to be crammed in to everything else. (main reason they popularized small/compact cars is cuz they don't have wide open roads/parking etc to begin with)

Ok dude we are talking about the market of Japan right? So lets think, ok Sega consoles are from Japan initialy so are: Nintendo, Sony, Panasonic, NEC and even Neo Geo!

Japan is the home of video games. The market is HUGE in Japan and it the Xbox will not dominate!

Being 10 times the size in population which it isn't it's around 3. It's how many people are into video games and which company they will serve for that.

It matters alot on what Xbox's status is over there. Plus the Nintendo is not gonna be pushed over that easily as the GBA is rompating the Earth. Nintendo gets a shit load of profits on the GBA so good luck Microwankers!

I don't want Microsoft to have a monopoly on the console market aswell. I like diversity in consoles.

Sure they have the Headset communicator but what u don't realise in the future will shock you!

What you don't seem to realize is that there is quite a bit of money to be made in the USA and Europe and I think that combined that equals more than what is earned in Japan. Sad, I wish that it was more successful over there but it is not. I get good stuff over here so I don't really mind. Japanese companies are releasing tons of great stuff on XBox over here as they know it will sell well. Capcom is a perfect example of this. Where else are you going to get online 2D fighting? Or Steel Battalion?

The Japanese resist a lot of American stuff, sad but true. They're loyal that way, ahh well. Like I said they're loss, not mine.

I do agree it's about personal taste, and that's why I'm FINNALLY so happy to see a system that I own get some really nice games.

Why are you even writing this reply? It's the Unrelated forum and he's not posting porn or flaming anyone and I don't see how this or his other thread involving Republicans can count as spam. I don't see how someone can not be a cheerleader for shit they're rooting for. If you don't care about the X-Box's success then there's really no need for you to keep checking this thread. Further if it's in your interests that the X-Box does not succeed or that you get some gripe across JHendrix why not just do it via the "Romper Room" or via private messages?
