I just picked up this game for my GameCube. Outside of all the cutesy kid stuff it really is a solid 2-D fighter. The graphics are incredible and the charater animation is the best I've ever seen. GameCube can do 2-D extremely well.

The game has that arcade feel to it. There is so much going on and with the bonus stages it just feels like your playing a really action-packed coin-op. It's kinda like a much better 2-D Powerstone.

Smash Bros looks better than anything I've played on my Xbox (Halo, Project Gotham, DOA3). GameCube now has two must own titles, Rogue Leader and Smash Bros. Anyone else like or dislike this title?

I got the import for my B-Day. Usually I like darker games, but I must admit that it is quite fun and addictive. It's now taking a back seat to GGX Plus, but it still is a quality game.

I picked it up a few days ago also. I was quite surprised at how much better it is than the N64 game, not just in terms of graphics but fun too (I could never get into the N64 version..).

I only picked it up because the rest of my gaming group kept going on about it, now I'm glad I did! <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Let me be the first spec of mud...

I feel that this is the same game as the N64's release.

There is nothing really new to enhance the experience in terms of gameplay. Granted the graphics have recieved un uplift, it's not the grand uplift that I have been hoping for.

Some of the backgrounds are pretty cool, but I expected more for a 128 bit release.

No freakin way this game looks better than Halo, Metal Gear Solid 2, or any other block buster on any other next gen system.

Since fun is key, it does fill that up pretty well but other than that...it's the same old shit.

Seems like nintendo's moddo so far..

"let's repackage the same old shit, spice it up, and try to sell it to the same people"

......I'll still buy it though

Ive played it for many hours over at a friend's place (now that he has the GC we ignore his Xbox).

Not bad, but I admit I like Super Monkey Ball more (probably because I work people at that game).

I think you may be missing the point. There was a huge Super Smash Bros (N64) following. A Lot of people loved that game, and they even went tooth and nail arguing about Ness's Top Tier-ness, and other elements of the game. The fans didn't WANT them to change it. Enchance it? Yes! Change it? No! They added in extra characters, new levels, obviously superior graphics, new stages, the whole trophy thing, and several new modes of play, but Nintendo tried to keep the game virtually the same - not cause they are lazy, but because they are smart.

There's no way any nintendo(gc) game could come close to MGS2 or Halo.....

I still think MB is better in terms of fun, but maybe it's because i hated the first SB.

But remember when the PS2 first came out, how everybody was like...."oh yeah RRV is bad ass and TTT is just the bomb, but finally when a great game (MGS2) came out now all those game's look and play like shit......................

You people just crack me up.........
All over the GC Vs Xbox........
did i mention that MB is better?
i'll just let my GC alone and wait for Resident Evil to hit(or a mario party 4), since so far is the only title i'm looking forward to.....

GC Castlevania

SSB:M is a lot of fun considering how easy it is to pick up and go. if you have some friends over that don't like fighters and don't know how to play them, they can easily slide into this game and you can get a game going quickly.

the amount of stuff in the game keeps it fun and fresh from the single player standpoint as there's a ton of stuff to find. also, the single player adventure is fun for a while too.

the fighting portion is similar to the n64 release, but the extras make it worthwhile, without a doubt...
