Appleseed is great! Better than Ghost in the Shell IMHO, although GITS has a cool anime version. I also like Akira as a manga and anime (who doesnt?), Ranma 1/2 (most of Rumiko Takahashi stuff is great) and I'm a big fan of Akira Toriyama (Dragonball, Dr. Slump).

I'm not too sure whats hot right now, but I know that Love Hina has quite a big following, although I know almost nothing about it <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

Seems a little dull to me, but I'm sure I'm wrong. Anyone?

AKIRA manga is so much more than the movie
Ohtomo is amazing.
for fun Dr Slump is funny as fuk. something
that the original Dragonball series was
until it was revised into the action oriented
series of DBZ and DBZ GT.

I think mt favourite is Ninja Scroll
