Heres one BIG money saver. Cancel your long distance.

Yes. Cancel it.

You drop the monthly service fee (no idea what yours is), and the per minute surcharge.

My family buys phone cards at Walmart, Target, Radioshack, or wherever for 3.00 that last us for at least a month. You would be suprised how little you actually need to call long distance. How often do you?

Don't pay 25.00 a month, along with 12 cent a minute phone calls. It is just gouging you.

pee outside. saves a few gallons of water from being flushed needlessly.

unplug your refridgerator - you're eating out all the time anyways, and an average fridge costs you $20 a month in kilowatt hours.

Stop eating. You're fat, and since you like to play games, you're not exercising enough, so this will be good for you.

charge your neighbors for protection. explain to them how a brick can fly through their window at any moment if they're unprotected. Be prepared to evidence your claim.

syphon gas from neighbor's car at night. This would have save you a lot more last year when gas was so freaking expensive, but hey - don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

stage your own kidnapping, send ransom note to your parents. nuff said.

you'll be rich like me in no time.

Got a credit card? Call and tell them you want to cancel it. They should offer you a drop in APR right away.

Alternatively liquidate everything you have of value, get all your cash together and jump the country.

Make sure you head for a non-extradition country tho - like Cuba.

If your creditors ever catch up with you they deserve paying for finding you

Go to a bank heavily armed and rob it,if you get away with it you got loads of money,if you get caught you get 15 years and will officially be out of debt for 15 years.

Or shoot yourself in the head

Or become a dog,you know how men turn into women ask a surgion to turn you into a dog
become hobo or lassie and run around saving people, they will never find ya!

Pimp your MOTHER! Ha, Ha, Ha!

Just Kidding! Please don't take offense, that was just a little joke! My mom's a slut too!

Seriously though, I know you said a second job is out of the question but you might want to reconsider. If I wasn't going to school I'd get a job second at some place like Funcoland or Gameworks. Work about 8-10 hours extra a week and you'd be surprised at how fast the extra cash piles up. Or you could just try working some more hours at your regular job and rake in that fat overtime pay! Whatever you do don't sell your video game collection. You will regret it! Good Luck!

Make a budget. Stick to it. Save 1000$ in the sock drawer or savings account. List all your debts smallest to largest. Make minimum payments on all but the smallest and send all the money you can to the smallest. When the smallest is gone send all the money you can to the next largest including the minumum payment you used to send on the old bill. The 1000$ is in case of emergencies so you don't use any credit and should be replenished as soon as possible if you have to use it.

One of the best methods I have found and wish not to do is selling off some of your game collection. I am fortunate that I haven't had to do this yet. Though I try to keep my spending down to a minumum whenever possible. Making a good budget helped me out years ago and have been fine ever since.

I agree. I got a second job delivering pizza. I make about 50$ a night in tips. I've paid off all but one credit card in about 2 months. Whatever you do, only sell your games as a last resort! I'm still trying to build my collection back up from when I hit a hard spot last year.

I would like to be the first to welcome you to the elite club of people who pay for every thing in cash!

Magnaflux's Idea was the same thing I used to get out of my debt. Im working on my credit now. Good luck to you. I could never put aside $1000 my truck kept breaking so I only had $200 set aside at a time. One thing that saved me more. I diden't but any thing for like a mont sept food, and READ alot. It takes up time and fun, unless your one of the nerds that think print is dead!

Tips to Avoid Debt:

One of my goals in life is to stay out of avoidable debt altogether. Here's some things that have helped me accomplish this goal:

1. Pay off credit cards every month. Why pay late fees and added interest when you don't have to. Have only one credit card.

2. When buying luxury items, make sure you have 2X the amount of money it costs in the bank. If you don't, don't buy it.

3. Use coupons. You'd be surprised how quickly they add up. I use $.03/gallon gas coupons every time I fill up. That's a savings of $60/year for taking a minute of my time every week. The same is true when shopping for groceries.

4. Shop for bargains

5. See Daisuke's suggestion on pre-paid phone cards. Or dial 10-10-636 ($.05/minute) for Long distance.

6. Make a budget and stick to it. Put Microsoft Excel to work.

7. Make sacrifices and live within your means.

8. Look at cars as a utilitarian object. Drive 'em till you can't anymore. When you buy a different car, start saving for a another car. Cars only last so long.

9. If you rent movies and games, take them back on time. I work @ a video store, and you would be surprised at how fast the late fees stack up for ppl.

10. When you order games or things that are shipped, get the cheapest shipping available. $5-10 extra on shipping adds up FAST for people that order dozens of games a year.

Many of these things require lifestyle changes, but if you are truly determined, you can do it. Willpower is a stong human sense.

Good luck.

Hope this helps.
