Might get flamed but, has anyone gotten ZSNES running on a Pentium 4?

Ok, I know you guys want to flame me now, but I'm not using it for piracy purposes, this is strictly for testing (cause I could play this stuff on my P3 if I was pirating it anyway). But anyway here's my question:

I'm running on a Pentium 4 1.8 GHZ, and I have a GeForce 3 Titanium 200 video card.

Now I know that ZSNES really isn't able to run on Pentium 4 very well due to it needing to be optimized for it. However, I am wondering if anyone has gotten it to run correctly on Pentium 4, and how they did it. (I can only get a bad frame rate and raspy/slow sound)

Well, I'm just asking this question because I'm curious (and it'll make me feel better about owning a Pentium 4). If you want to flame me, then vent it towards the war room if you feel that strongly against me.

Might have to use Windows 95 or 98, I dont have that program myself. Sure the flames are coming.

First of all what CPU you have has nothing to do with running a program like ZSNES.Your OS/Ram/Videocard/Drivers are what makes that possible.

If your running Windows XP and can't get ZSNES to work then that's your problem, never use a new OS and expect everything to run right away.

If your running Detonator XP drivers try a different version of them, they are very picky, I've heard people that downloaded the newest DXP drivers could only get 13 FPS in Quake 3, and after switching to an older version, it fixed the problem totally and they were getting the normal 200 on a GeForce 3.

It's probably a driver/OS conflict, it definetly has nothing to do with what CPU you have. As for a program being optimized for a certain CPU, that would only mean it would perform slightly better on that certain CPU than on any other CPU of equal power. Just like using Regular of Premium gas, both are still going to run your car, one just gets you better milage.

well I was originally told that ZSNES is processor based due to what it's coded in, and P4 wasn't really capable of running it due to that p4 didn't have enough processor instructions or whatever it was called to run it... i'll try what you said though, thanx a lot <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

i just tried snes9x in xp, and i got it running at a perfect 60 fps with no slow down at all and 1600x1200 res with super eagle engine and some other option i checked (i think it said "Hi-res graphics"). perfect sound too. <IMG SRC="smilies/tickled.gif" border="0">

I had one, and it was definetly not 'shit'. You forgot to add Return Fire, Samurai Shodown (sure it isn't as good as the Neo, but damn good for what it was), Star Control II, PO'ed, Gex, Flying Nightmares, and Syndicate. I know there are quite a few more, but I can't think of them at the moment.
