There are a few things in life to me that are special. Games, my WIFE, my dog.

And there are a few games that are more special than the rest. Metroid...Halo...

And then there's final fantasy 7. a game i've spent no less than 400 hours on. the pinnacle of games as an escape from this reality. I could go on...but instead will post this news, as taken from www.gamers.com

Hot on the heels of the formal announcement of Final Fantasy X-2, Japanese site Quiter is reporting that series' producer Yoshinori Kitase mentioned a possible sequel to the series' most popular installment, Final Fantasy VII, in the upcoming issue of Japan's number one game magazine, Famitsu.

How do you even make a sequel to a game where everyone was dead at the end?

What if they made two (as in yet another) sequels to FFX? They could be like Guilty Gear and call it Final Fantasy XXX. ;)

Yeah, they sure like milking their flagship franchise for as long as it will sell.

I'm personally glad that most of their people that I liked took their creative genius and are now a subsidiary of Namco known as Monolith Soft. :D

Isn't this just the rerelease they talked about a long time ago before the movie came out? I'm not sure it's really a sequel, per se.

Do you guys realy think FFVII is something special? I played it a whole lot when it first came out as well, and it was just another RPG to me. I thought that it was held in such high regard because it was the first RPG a lot of people played, and everyone holds a special place in their hearts for a first like that...

As a real life example, everyone I know was an RPG fan in the days of the NES, including myself, and none of us think that FFVII is too great. People who got into it with the PSX are so much more likely to love it it seems. I'm not saying that you guys don't actually like that game, but do you think it's more than just fond memories???? I'm not trying to be sarcastic or irritating, I really want to hear what you guys have to say.

I've played RPGs since way long ago. Well, as long as I was around. NES-SNES RPGs i conquered...i played the psx's first offering, Wild Arms, and then i played FF7. which, in my opinion, toppled everything.

all my friends who played it around the same time agree; and they're all nerds who played RPG's before hand as well.

NeonSonic: This talk is of a sequel in story; not the remade version.

While they're at it, they should make a GBA game based on Shadow's dreams.

Yeah I started playing RPGs with Chrono Trigger, and then I went back and played a whole bunch of SNES RPGs.

Final Fantasy 7 is my 2nd favorite game of all-time, right behind Chrono Trigger. I don't know my 3rd favorite game. I just know the top two. Both of these games are really special and just totally incredible, imo.

So yeah, FF7 wasn't just another RPG for me, I truly think it's an incredible game. And if they make an FF7-2? You'd better believe I'll be first in line.
