I think it's pretty damn rude. I mean, if all goes smooth, and each party gets what's theirs, both deserve positive feedback, regardless of the amount of feedbacks they have.

I've completed 2X auctions, and out of those, 10 have left feedback. I leave feedback for everybody. Then again, when it comes to ebay and selling games online, I'm not one to smooze. When it comes to business, I'm strickly no-nonsense. Maybe that scares ppl off from leaving feedback - who knows?

Dude, it's just not fair.

I see it this way, someone advertises something as great, and I get shit in return. I leave nothing. PERIOD.

Now if I were to leave a negative then I would get a revenge negative in return so there is not shit you can do. Even if I leave the negative after they posted a postive on me, they would probably make a fake account to burn my own.

To much paranoia, and I honestly still believe, heavy business (1000 and up) should be done OFFLINE.

That way you are sure of what your getting.
If its like 20 bucks or so, and you loose out, then thats no big loss.

Too right I hate it..

My rating should be about 10 higher, but people can't be bothered even to spend 30 seconds leaving a few words..

I try to be as friendly as possible, I leave feedback as soon as I send the stuff out..

I guess some people can't help being assholes

i ve done over 20 auctions and i ve only
gotten 6 feedback.
im never too worried though.
if the seller has reserve about my
rep then i would email the man
and say that i am serious about the auction.
i usually buy with buyit now.
maybe thats the problem...

I personally don't like feedback. Really - know who you buy from, not what some feedback says. It's useful, but when you boil it down, LWK is right, feedback is a "I scratch your back, you scratch mine"

I've had deals where I pay super fast, and the other guy doesn't leave feedback - then after shipping late (like 7 days from my paypal) they request me to leave them feedback, and offer to do the same for me when they get their feedback.

To those people I usually send a nasty letter, calling them assholes for even bothering.

GregN,

I know what you mean. When I sell a game I will not leave feedback until the buyer does. About 80% do leave feedback. Some of them you need to remind or hassle to get feedback.

I personally don't care as long as the feedback is not negative.

I pretty much agree with everyone on this but I will add my two cents.
It used to bother me but I have gotten over it! What is most important to me is if the item I receive is in the condition it was advertised.
If I am a seller and I receive payment quicky I post positive feedback. If I am a buyer and the seller first posts feedback I do the same once item is received and if it is in condition stated.

I always request that the seller, no matter which one of us it is, leaves feedback as soon as the payment is recieved. The other one can leave feedback after they recieve their item. No one can screw the other over that way. Except buyer. But I am always the buyer, and never screw anyone over. Worst I have left is a neutral.

(supposedly sealed copy of Tarzan VHS, giant tears in shrinkwrap when I got it)

The seller was upset that I was not pleased. He offered to send me another copy if I would pay for shipping, to send mine back. Whatever. He should have sent me what he advertised. There was no way the damage done to the wrap was done in shipping. It was a gift, and I did not have time to send it back, and wait for another copy.

Here's something interesting for sellers;

if you list your auction as U.S. only, and the high bidder ends up being international;

I had lots of international bidders try to pressure me in to selling them the item, or else they would leave negative, I have to say it worked twice before I found out if they leave you a negative you can have E-bay remove it, because they were an "unwelcome bidder", it worked once for me, E-bay removed a negative, they guy actually left me a negative saying he had paid me!, and that I never sent anything, which was a complete lie!

I always leave feedback the day I get the payment (if im selling) or the day or day after I get the item (if im buying).

I really hate it when people don't leave any, and you have to remind them through email. I have only ever had two people NOT leave me feedback. One was someone I sold something too, and I left them some as soon as the payment came, another guy, who really pissed me off didn't leave me ANY.

And I Paypaled him for the auction like 4 hours after it had ended, plus I left him positive when it came, which I regret now, if I would have known he wasn't gonna leave me any.

I just wond 2 auctions (aslan11 + !arcade! - 2 biggest Neo sellers on EBAY) and paid via paypal within 2 days and they never left me any feedback.

I think all the bigger companies just dont bother and all the buyers + collectors feel its justified - personally i have left feedback for EVERY item i have received, as long as its as described and i receive it within a month

Not really,if im buying off you and get what i want i dont owe you shit except what i paid for it,you dont go to a shop buy an item
then run round advertising there shop if they tell you to do you?.
And from your perspective why should you care?you got there cash aint ya!
advertise yourself by all means dont expect customers to do it for you,the opportunity is there to leave feedback and i beleave it should stay but it is an option not obligatory.

It's courteous to give a good feedback for a smooth transaction.

Like LWK says, you've got to be careful about Negging. Personally, I think a member should get kicked off for good after leaving just ONE retaliatory Neg- such a policy would encourage those who have been wronged to come forward without fear.

If I sell something and the buyer welches, I'll request a Final Value Fee Credit, which leaves discipline up to eBay.

One good thing to do is if you leave someone a Positive feedback, tell them you did so.

I only have 109 positive feedbacks and I know for a fact I should have at least 200.
