With the new 2 games packin (Sega GT 2002 and Jet Set Radio Future), you also get the new S controller, instead of the older/bulkier model, all for $200.

And with the DVD remote rebate, you can get that for free too!

And if you sign up at Target credit card, you get 10% off! Deals deals deals!

The Gamecube packin with memory card + Mario Sunshine for $190 is a good deal as well!!

I would go with the Game Cube.

I think that every video game system should come with a pack in software title, like they did back in the good ol days.

Ya know, I have to agree with you on this one. Ever since the Old Atari 2600, Game companies have always packed in a game to get a child start on their new game system. WHile Even though the cost of a cartridge was expensive, I remember getting Super Mario Bros. with my first Nintendo and SUper Mario World with My Super Nintendo. It seems that the trend for companies today is to charge for the system, and pay extra for your first game. Even today, the cost of a cd/dvd is minimal, were talking cents on the dollar here. You at least figure they could include a sampler or something to get someone started. Not everyone is made of money...

i do think thats pretty lame that consoles dont
really come with packins anymore
(of course nintendo and microsoft looks to be changing that ;) )
i ve made a ritual around buying games before i buy the systems nowadays.
its pretty dissapointing buying a system and only
having one game or two to play because you bought it
all at the same time in one lump sum.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
o and i am getting an xbox at the end of the month
i was getting one anyways for shen mue 2 and a jsf
i bought a month ago but this only sweetens the deal.
;D
I echo the sentiment that console ought to have a packin.
It sucks nowadays, they charge you extra for memory card, game, only 1 controller (remember back when systems packin with *2*), heck, some don't even give you the proper video cables (unless you want ugly signals)...
So I think Xbox with *2* games is a great deal, and Gamecube is super with 1 + memory card! Good for patient folks like us who wait it out.
Now let's see if PS2 will have a packin... somehow, i doubt sony care tho :(
Very few consoles launched with a pack in. Neither my Jap Megadrive or Super Famicom came with a pack in, they came later just like we're seeing now.
Great deal and at least one great game (JSR Future). Too bad I own it, otherwise I'd get it. Wonderful deal, but you have to wonder just how much in trouble Xbox is if they're doing this...
I dunno about Japanese console launches, but here in USoA, Genesis was packed with Altered Beast and SNES was packed with Super Mario World.
This is a good deal. Now it makes sense why Target slashed JSRF to $12. I was wondering why they did that.
That's a pretty good deal. The only thing I don't like is that the 2 games will be on the same disc (right?). I'd prefer the two seperate cases and discs, just for collectors purposes. I also kind of do want to have at least one of the giant controllers. They're supposed to be a lot better for Halo, which I STILL haven't played really.
Damn it! According to my plan Atlus was supposed to release Shin Megami Tensei 9 here before the X Box could die!
You better be bullshitting, I don't want two games on one disc, I hate that shit.
The bundle and Steel Battallion is all that's on my x-mas list this year. :D
What's so bad about that? I really like that idea, personally! Takes me back to the Nintendo days (super spike volleyball and soccer).
Where do I get this rebate? Is it included in the box, or is this something that's store specific?
X-Box is getting some good games later on, but for me, that package is not enought to warrent a purchase. Now, if they remade the system to look more attractive, then... (my room is already flooded w/ consoles. I don't need that)
You buy the remote and get coupon from store, fill it up, cut the UPC symbol from xbox box, and mail it in. Wait for check, done. :)
I was talking about that the other day in a thread about the NES Satellite. That was a hellacious pack-in. Still have it to this day.
Jigen was showing me something from Toy Tec, the Brazillian Sega Distributer, they're offering like 30 games with the Mega Drive.
Now that's MAD Jogos. We get one jogo these days and we're pumped. They get a closet full of jogos.
True the system is really old now, but it's not as old to them as it is to us!
It seems to me that game companies have changed drasticlly over the years. Back then it was more about making the best game. Today however, it seems like all game companies care about is who's going to be number one. I don't want to start a system war here, but with companies such as Microsoft and Sony taking over, we get further and further away from the days a systems games made the system. Today its more like system A is much more technally advanced then system B, so if you want to be the coolest kid in school, buy system A. I look at a game console for its games, period. I don't care if my system is yesterdays technology, if it has better games, then that's what i'm going to buy and play. Thats why I love my Neo!
Did I get to far of the subject?
