Microsoft is planning to make a handheld device for use with it's X-box as well as a stand alone computer in it's own right.
From what I gather from the story the size of the unit is a questions, whether it is a Pocket PC size unit or more of a tablet computer. The unit is to be more than just a gaming platform but it's exact functions are unknown as the article itself seems to be a little confused on it's purposes.
But as far as we're concerned it appears to be a handheld console and may be Microsoft's attempt to wrest the handheld market death grip that Nintendo has held since the inception of the handheld market.
Can they do it? I don't think so, but at any rate this type of competiton will only make better games and products so...what the hell, more power to them.
Personally I think Microsoft is a little arrogant to think that they can suceed where so many have failed, in a field that they have just entered (game consoles).
