Has anyone else seen The Ring? I saw a sneak preview showing of it on Saturday. This is bar far one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. The trailers are kinda' boring for this movie for a reason, they just don't want to give to much away. In adition to it being a mind bending horror movie, it has an all around excellent story. I think it is being nationally released on this coming Friday (Oct. 18th).

If you at all like scary movies GO SEE THIS ONE!!! I can't recommend it enough.

P.S.

Has anyone seen the original Japanese film Ringu or read the book?

Here is a link to the movies web site: http://www.ring-themovie.com/

The previews for this look boring , But since you say it's good Ill check it out. Guess it would be a good flick to take the old woman 2.

Thanks

I'm going to see it mainly for Naomi Watts. I fell in love with her in Mulholland Drive.

I've seen the original Japanese film. It's alright, nothing special, not very scary either. Have they kept they storyline the same in the US version?

I hanvn't seen the Japanese version yet. I don't know if I want to see it after watching the new US one. I shit yo nt that movie scared the hell out of me. But I have always been easily scared by horror films that mess with your head.

Anyone know where I can pick up a Japanese version on DVD here in the US?

Has anyone read the book, or know if it has been translated into English?

Japanese version: http://us.imdb.com/Title?0178868 It was originally made in 1998. It is based on a book writen by a Japanese author by the name of Kôji Suzuki (II). That is about all I know.

The US Version: http://us.imdb.com/Title?0298130 It is a remake of the original Japanese movie. I have no idea how closely it is to the original as I have never seen it. It looks like writing credits still go to Kôji Suzuki, so I'm assuming it has be at least fairly similar to the original Japanese film.
