Maybe im missing something here, but hasnt SLy stopped making movies??

Why there is still no one to replace him.
He's just about the best actor..I loved his late 70's films like Hells kitchen, FIST, and of course First Blood.

But I think Stuff like Tango and Cash/The specialist and Assasins were his best movies of all!

As far as I know Copland was his last movie???

Driven was the last I know of, and it was a good movie, just for entertainment's sake.

What fucking planet have you been living on the past few years??!!!

Recent Sly releases include:

Get Carter - brilliant remake of the Caine original... dark and moody, very stylish. Very unfairly panned by the US media, and a box office flop. Guess some people don't like remakes...

Driven - superb film, very very entertaining, great cast and some eye popping sfx. One to watch if you're into motor racing... or if you just like big, explosive, accidents.

D-Tox - don't know much about this, other than Sly is a cop in rehab for alcohol abuse. Quiet at the box office, mixed reviews...

Two upcoming Sly pics are Avenging Angelo and Shade.

He does, just that no one ever watches them and the studio learned that his days in the box office is OVER. :D

Get Carter was an excelent movie ! I would say one of his best roles to date,I think it deffinitly fits his look at this point in his life , he really is the perfect tuff guy for that role.
Driven on the otherhand was just way to long and plain stupid , it reminded me of a very long and horrible music video.

Dosent look to me like there will be anymore action movies like the 80's and early 90's spawned, you know the kind you expect guys like Arnold and Sly in.

Seems like we are swamped with trash like the Fast & Furious and Behind Enemy Lines and Tripple-X.

I don't care what he says, or anyone else for that matter... People know damn well if Stallone donned the red rag around his forehead one last time, picked up a machine gun, started shooting, and screaming with the familiar "It's a long road" theme song playing in the back ground from First Blood... and then the captions appeared on screen in the preview...

THE FIRST WAS FOR HIMSELF...
THE SECOND WAS FOR HIS COUNTRY...
THE THIRD WAS FOR HIS FRIEND...

Now...

ONE LAST TIME, HE STANDS ALONE IN A TIME OF TURMOIL...

Directed by John Woo...

RAMBO IV: TRAGIC HERO

(Depsite what ppl say, if the above showed on the screen, Rambo IV would make so much money it be pathetic.)

Enough said :)

They probably got tired of finding whole casts of short ppl to act with him... I keep hearing from people who saw Stallone in person that he's short as hell, and that any scene with him requires either short co-stars or bizarre camera angles.

Ditto.

Probably he feels that he's too old now to make another movie.

why would you want him to? after "over the top" his carrer went to shambles. he has no real acting ability to speak of, and i have no idea why rocky even got an oscar the movie goers of today have, their thumbs up their asses or something.

Actually he (Stallone) went on that show that showcases movie stars / actors in an open forum and stated that he would not do another Rambo movie :( He said something like "the character might show up against a bigger backdrop, but who wants to see an aging soldier".

Well I do. All he'd need to to is get on a work out program and beef up the way he did for First Blood Part II. Then with todays FX and a really good story that would be plausible for John Rambo to be back in action (hopefully with collaboration with creator David Morrell), then finally kill the Rambo character off in a heroic finale... THE FILM WOULD SELL, PERIOD!

but until this happens with JW at the directors chair... RAMBO IV: TRAGIC HERO is but a figment of my wishfull thinking :(

It wouldnt be hard for stallone to get in shape for a rambo 4.He was in great shape in his late 40s for roles like Lock up and the specialist.

He says "who wants to see an ageing soldier".....but wasnt Clint Eastwood an ageing soldier in "heartbreak ridge" and that film did pretty well

BTW I got pissed off about 5 years ago with stallone constantly saying a new rocky film was imminent, it never happened, and I doubt a new rambo would either.

Basically the critics are the real roadblock, stopping a new rambo, stallone knows they would pan fry him over a new one, and all those away from type films he made would mean nothing.

A new rambo could have john rambo in a mr miyagi type role.

BTW did they make anymore karate kid films after 4?
