I am up to 71 MAX combo chain in Level 1 there are some enemies near the end of the stage I cant figure out how to kill without killing my chain .

its the two rows of small craft that fly between the balck and white gunships right before the boss .

any tips ?

I still love that game. It's kinda odd, but I got better at it by not playing it. I stopped playing it for a week or two and when I did again I could play a lot better. Then again, I was attempting to play Strikers 1945 Plus during those two weeks. So maybe my break just made me appreciate good shooters.

Go to the Treasure site and download their 'perfect' versions of levels one and two. It will break your heart but at least show you how to do that bit. I think their demo (allegedly recorded by a human) gets a chain of around 170 on level one. It kicks the games own attract mode into touch.

Here are some direct links. If you haven't seen them then get them, incredible stuff. I can't decide if it is human or not. There was stuff here that I was sure couldn't be that I've since pulled off though so I guess it maybe is. They are 15Mb and 23.5Mb respectively.

I've gotten up to a 79 chain so far on level 1 (A+! Whoo-hoo!), that's my best yet. So far I can also kill the first boss in exactly 30 seconds (70 left on the clock).

As for level 2... well... Still workin' on that. Only a 46 max chain or so I think. Workin' on the patterns still...

I got pissed. I tried that with a 27 inch tv I only paid 100 bucks for. The set is nice and in great shape. I decided to risk it, and give it a try, since I just bought a new 32 inch for the living room. .... Alas... it was not meant to be...

The damn thing didn't like being turned on its side. The colors all went to shit (green and dark, blah...) Oh well... Guess I'll have to try another set....

You should let the set sit without power for a couple of hours after you've changed its orientation to lower the chances of that happening I believe. Still, bad luck.

Just wanna say this, Retrogamer you are so FUCKING AWESOME!!!

A bit more playtime and you'll be like the 'perfect' Ikaruga player just like in those video (great videos btw). The highest I remember I did was 40 chain. :)
