I just got my Band of Brothers DVD set and I must say it's worth every penny of my $89.99 It comes in a hard back novel sized tin can with each of the 6 DVDs threaded in cardboard to jewel case inserts into the box like that of a belt fed machine gun! Really fucking cool! To any who might have also bought this today, I do have one question. Does your DVDs suddenly freeze before each episode begining? or did I get some kind of defective batch? I'm going to watch all 705 minutes (10) episdoes back to back, and currently on episode 5.

Laterz! :)

Your crazy...but I did like the box tin it came in (when I had seen it at a local music store)...I was thinking of getting it for my dad as a Christmas gift seeing that he loves movies/shows/documentaries like that :D

Plus I get to watch it all again (seen it all on HBO) during the Christmas break <img src="graemlins/mrt2.gif" border="0" alt="[Mr T]" />

It's like Private Ryan in its gritty depiction of combat, but the length allows a lot more character development. Band of Brothers seems more genuine to me, you follow the lives of the soldiers of the company from basic training to the end of the war.
It's really an excellent series and I'm definately going to pick up the dvd based on everyone's recomendations.

Well I managed to do it... watched all 10 episodes in a row last night, with some brief intermissions, didn't get to sleep until like 8:00am today and I just got up! The problems I had with the DVDs (nameably episode 3) were only existent on my GF's cheapie DVD player but did not occur on my Panasonic do-it-all set! For those who still don't know, go out and buy this Boxed set! But if you do a marathon like me, trust me, you'll feel as worn out as the combat vets portrayed in the series.

I'm curious to know how the DTS soundtrack on the DVD sounds. I watched it on HBO myself, each week for the time it was on. EXCELLENT show, great story, and they had great actors portraying the characters.

I'm on the edge about buying it though, I don't know if I would watch it again, and there is already too much that is coming, or has come out, this season.

Just picked up Babylon 5 Season 1, Transformers Season 2 Part 1 is a couple weeks away, extended version of Fellowship of the Ring is next week, etc etc....
