Super Nintendo games that need translating?

Alright... dropped a class and have considerably more free time now than I did the last few months... ;)

Anyways, I'm finally gonna start on a SNES translation (ROM). I'd just like to take a few suggestions - what needs translating? What would people like to see?

It's very doubtful that I'll start with an RPG (many translations available anyways), and my Japanese definately needs work (main reason I'm doing this), so maybe an action game of some sort would be best...

Anyways, hit me with some feedback.

Any of the Dodgeball games. I also heard that there was a River City Ransome released in Japan for the Super Famicom, is this true? If so that would be at the top of my list.

I actually told him to do super dodge ball for the SNES a few months ago. Actually, it shouldn't bee too hard since there is a faq with almost everything translated on gamefaqs - so you'd just need to match everything up...

I've been working on it a bit, actually. That's what I've been practicing with.

I think you should go to the EMU translation board to talk about this. Have fun translating games. Not.....

Maybe Fire Emblem? :D </strong><hr></blockquote>

Damn right it would. But I'm starting easy.

Aren't there any translation patches available for these games, though? They seem like popular choices - I'm surprised they haven't been done yet...

Actually, if possible, burn it onto a CD with the DC SNES emulator, so it can be played on DC. :D

I've been wondering the same thing, actually. I'd imagine if you had an eprom burner, the proper eproms, and a suitable sac cart (preferably the same game in Japanese), it would be possible.

I can't get the DC emulator to work for the life of me. I understand it's a little slow, though...

I know for a fact Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2) has been translated. Pretty sure Bahumut Lagoon has, too.

The thing that works best is getting yourself a copybox and play it from the floppy disks. Most translated games work properly that way and the feeling is almost the same :)

I'd like them best if someone could burn them into original snes carts though.. Those would be nice bootlegs for a change.

Aren't the sizes of ROMs you can fit on these devices limited, though?

Yes they are. If you'd wanting to get one, be sure to get a 32 mbit one. The roms remain the same size after ips patching (the language patch). Normally they don't grow bigger since translators can only use the available blocks of text for replacing the jap character for english ones..
