Oh, and yes, I know they made the Pippin along with Bandai.

I don't get it.

You say "what if Apple made a console?", then state that they made the pippen.

This is like saying "what if microsoft made a console? and yes I know they made the x-box".

It would probably be called the I-Box and be transparent (for the name I'm joking but for the transparent stuff, I think they would make it that way).

I think it would suck. They aren't involved in any way with video games. At least Microsoft already had a number of contacts within the gaming market. Apple has Adobe as their main partner, what are we going to see: Adobe's Crazy Aliens... Everybody knows that an Apple is for work and that a PC is for games, but the exception that you can do both on your PC.

They did make a gaming rig, it is called Quicksilver and has an ATI Radeon 9700 card in it.

Sorry for the sarcasm, I think Apple would not be able to survive the gaming market since it is already too cluttered.

Any apple product has been innovative and forced the PC community to evolve....

Whether apple's products are successful is irrelevant. the PC market constantly emulates Apple's products.

Any Airport/firewire/FC3/Shake user knows how groundbreaking apple products can be.

I think if apple made a console that it would ultimately fail. It's not their market for one. They also do not have the resources to lose as sony and MS do. It would be groundbreaking without a doubt.

You won't have to worry about Apple coming out with a new gaming console...they have enough trouble just bringing out games for the Mac platform as it is.

Seriously though, Microsoft went into the gaming business with a well thought out plan. THey also plan to stick around for the long haul as the company has a 2 BILLION dollar budget commited for the XBOX. Apple as a corporation simply does not have the resources or the cash to develop and roll out another game console in this already crowded market.
