Been eons since I woked up early to catch some good ole Saturday morning cartoons.

Well this morning I turned it on just to see what crap they put on today, and I saw UltraMan! Holy shit, UltraMan! I remember when they had those 1991 or so episodes on TV, I dug that stuff!

And then after UltraMan was MUSCLEMAN cartoon! Man that was one of my favorite toys. They were inexpensive, fun and cool. The cartoon was pretty awesome.

Next week I'll wake up early to catch it all. It's all a part of what the network calls "FOX BOX." It might not be as great as the old days, but it certainly beats out anything I seen in the past half decade or so.

Check it out next week for yourself.

Muscles??? Those pink toys that came in a seethrough garbage can?? Hell Yeah!! Besides a few loose Transformers, Muscles are the only toys that I have left from my childhood. What channel did you see it on Steve?

Also, is anyone else watching He-Man? I think it has a ton of potential. Yesterday's ep was okay but I think it can only get better. I hope.

Man, I'm saddened. I use to get up Saturday mornings in high school and watch "squigglevision" (was previously called Science Court until they changed the name)... then, they stopped playing it. Thanks for opening old wounds.

Hell yeah, Steve! I set my alarm this morning and watched all the shows on FoxBox from 8:30-12:00.

Saturday morning cartoons ARE back and it totally kicks ass. I can't wait for the new Ninja Turtles cartoon this winter. WOOHOO.

Ultraman and Ultimate Muscle are the best!

It's cool how the Ultraman dub is also kind of a parody on itself. Sometimes they characters say things that I would expect to hear on MST3K or something.

"Maybe you should go to your soom an get some rest"
"I'm fine"
"I had beans for lunch."
"...see ya."

LOL.

Ultimate Muscle is just damn funny. Today was the best when Kid Muscle had ot fight his father. Man... soo funny.

Shin Guile, it's on FOX.

Ducky, what are the names of the 3 cartoons that air from 8:30-9:30? I woke up at 10 so I was able to catch the end of UltraMan, but it definitely peaked my interest to what 8:30, 9:00 and 9:30 was airing...

Yeah, I saw those He-Man episodes... not bad at all.

But this new Fox Box thing seems really cool, and finally a reason for me to wake up early on Saturday mornings. :)

EDIT: Oh yeah, Guile, yes I was talking about those M.U.S.C.L.E little guys from the 80s. They started out pink as you stated, and later went to funky shades of purple, orange, blue, neon green and more. The cartoon is a *little* long overdue (heh heh) but who cares it's finally here!

I was cracking a gut when that Muscle son busted out that silly melody, "Who is lucky? Who is lucky?" I can't put my finger on that melody, whats it called again?

8:30 - Ultraman
9:00 - Kirby
9:30 - Ultimate Muscle

The episodes on at these times are different from the ones on later on FoxBox. So it means 2 new episodes of each show every Saturday Morning. So if you wanna keep up to date with what's happening on Ultrman, Kirby, and Ultimate Muscle, ya gotta wake up a little earlier so you don't miss anything. :)

It's actually based on some sort of new timeline; the Japanese version of the show is "Kinnikuman II." What I find interesting is that the series seems to parallel WCW so much... right down to the nWo-ish badguys. <img src="graemlins/loco.gif" border="0" alt="[Loco]" />

Meanwhile, Mucha Lucha freaks me out for two reasons:

1) "Superstar"* Bueno Girl's massive arms.
2) The Flea.

*If you've heard of Billy Graham (the wrestler, not the televangelist), you know what I mean. If not: Think current Scott Steiner.
