damn.

i had just gotten my game cube a few days ago and hadnt played anything in that time except for animal crossing.

today feeling kind of bored, i decided to give my dreamcast some lovin, since i hadnt played it in oh, 3 days.

so i pop in sonic adventure 2. and thats when i almost started to cry.

i was still amazed by the graphics, and the rich textures, and uber fast speed of the game. thinking how it looks better than almost every single ps2 game, and even some xbox and gc games. and definately plays better than the lot of em (sonic and shadow levels anyway.)

then i started thinking about the ign.cube review of sa2:battle. how they bashed the game so hard, because they said it looked just like the dreamcast version which according to the means shit.

i still cant possibly concieve how dreamcast failed even in the graphics driven whore market of today.

sonic adventure 2 is one madd impressive graphic fest.

i still cant fathom what happened...

I really really want to play Sonic Adventure 2, but for some stupid reason it still costs way more than a Dreamcast game should. It looks so good too :(

How many times have we had these Dreamcast sob topics? God, I really miss when the system was still really "alive".

replace sonic adventure 2 with 'shenmue 2' and i'm with you all the way. not saying sonic adv 2 is a bad game mind, but i liked the first better.

Damn straight. It's so sad how Dreamcast died a pre-mature death. You're right. There are a lot of Dreamcast games that look better than most PS2 games. It's just a great machine.

I think it's kind of weird how when SA2 was out on DC, hardly any stores that I saw had it on a playable display DC. But when SA2:Battle on GC came out, which is almost identicle to the DC version, it was on every GC display system I saw for months, only to recently be replaces by the StarFox/Mario demo.

Like the NEO, the DC will always be alive in the hearts of gamers who know good gaming. I only hope new games (no matter how few) continue to come out for the DC the way the NEO still does almost 13 years later.

Yup Shenmue II really does go the distance, but as for the DC not being able to be Boss in the graphical whore market of today? It had little to do with bad graphics or non-innovative gaming but rather the fickle buying habbits of Sony fanboys who dissed the DC even when the PS2 hadn't come out yet, and kept playing and buying PSone games instead. It's these assholes that ruined the market. As far as Sonic Adventure II being too pricey... if you can look around AFFES (Military run Basic Exchange) if you can, I got mine in Del Rio Texas for around 8.00USD brand new :)

DC FOREVER!

sure, i agree sa1 is better than sa2 where gameplay is concerned.

but i feel that sonic adventure 2 is still one of the more impressive looking games to date. large open areas, fast game play, constant frame rate, and uber quality textures with very minimal pop-up.

i have yet to play shemue 2 :'(

oh well...atleast dc is living as a neo port macheen, but it would be so much better to see the next gen 3d titles as well...

That wouldn't have anything to do with S2 coming to Xbox would it? <img src="graemlins/spock.gif" border="0" alt="[Spock]" />
