How protective are you about your gaming stuff?

I'm extremely protective. I next to never let anyone borrow game discs because they'll get scratched up and I actually make people wash their hands before using one of my consoles (which are all in my room). Well, hey, just about all of my stuff from the past 3 years is in perfect condition.

I am only protective of my neo stuff, other than that I don't really care all that much about my other games/systems. I let people borrow games all the time, even systems and memory cards.

But no one is to touch my AES, NGPC, or even MVS kits. My NGPC doesn't have a single scratch on the screen, and I've had since launch. But you should see my GBA, the screen is pretty much one big scratch.

I agree 100%, although I will let people borrow my Neo AES IF I REALLY trust them. My Neo Pocket however is OFF LIMITS to EVERYONE! (I'm very protective of it for some reason). ;)

MVS carts are free to anyone to use.

But when I had my home shit? Only I touched it, and I had to wear gloves.

Disc based games go only from the case, to my hand, to the tray.

Carts can be touched by anyone else.

I wash my hands before playing any of my shit. I don't let anyone borrow my games and never will. I'm tne only one who plays on my MVS/SuperGun. My brother won't even turn it on.

I let my family play my shit, 'cause I know they won't fuck it up. My brother is actually WORSE about this shit than I am. I also have controllers only I can use, everyone else can "share". That way MY controller doesn't get fucked up.

I let my friend to borrow my AES for once.....
Guess what, I never let anyone borrow my AES again.

I let my friends to play my AES game twice, and let me tell you that a lot of people don't know how to "take care" the joysticks.....

I do have a thing about washing my hands before I play my systems. Never let people borrow games either, because I know they won't get back to me in the same condition they left in.

Super protective, always put stuff on a bag after it's opened (CD case, etc.) and put the CD itself in a separate case.

I remember, one time, I was on a long field trip several years ago and one of my friends wanted to play my GameBoy. I wasn't letting him, because his hands were covered in Oreo crumbs and stuff and my teacher gave me this look like I was some kind of psychopath. Anyone who works at a buy/sell/trade place probably knows why a lot of people are so protective, judging by some of the systems they have to clean.

well anyone who is one of my friends is allowed to play whatever they want. but after my friend nearly busted a samurai shodown 2 cart on some guys head. i get a little touchy, but i don't use gloves or wash my hands. i go and play with fried chicken grease on my fingers, i could care less it'll dry up anyways so i never cared.

yes and no.

i really care about game cases and manuals and such. i keep all my jewel cases on my shelf rack thing, and dont leave the games in em.

i put all my cd games in binders for easy portability, and so my cases dont get fux0red.

i also keep my hucards in a cd binder ;)

so i dont really care the conidition of the cd so much(i dont care if its got scratches, but as long as it plays its all good.

and i dont care too much about the conditions of carts, because theyre really hard to fuck up anyway.

and im really protective of a few of my systems, namely my saturn (its the derby stallion one) my turbo duo (its brand new from 93" and my ngh (they cost alot)

you should see my dreamcast though...i take that shit EVERYWHERE its so fucked up from being thrown around in my backpack and shit. but it still works as good as the day i got it.

i also try to protect my portable screens, but most scratches are only visble if you look for them anyway.

LOL! Me too. I make people wash their hands as well, and it drives me NUTS when someone touches the screen on my tv while we're playing... inside I'm like "DON'T TOUCH MY SCREEN YOU STUPID STUPID FUCKER! I'LL KILL YOU!", but outside I'm like... um, please don't touch my screen.

I'm sick ;)

One time this guy I know "brushed off" my AES console, over the logo, with his bare (and probably nasty) hand. I wanted to kill him. Same with people just grabbing Neo stuff off the shelf and pawing it. Never take an AES to college!!

SNK4EVER nearly killed me once. ;)

I used to be baaaaad, probably worse than any of you, but now I've realized how fucking stupid that was. As far as I'm concerned, the stuff is meant to be used. I take care of my stuff, but at the same time, I think, "Who gives a fuck if there is a little wear from normal use"?

I dont loan anything game related to anyone .

I figure hey I paid for it , so if they want it , so can they !

Some people think just because you are friends you should let them borrow everything you have.

I just tell them you can buy it as easy as I did , so get your own.

What is the point of owning something if it is loaned out to someone else ?

You may as well not own it at that point because your option to use the item is now gone.

I dont mind if people come over and play any of my stuff though , It just doent leave my house.

The last time I've let someone borrowed something (my Saturn), I've never seen it again. Problem is, people only cares about their stuff (in the sense that when they have something that's doesn't belong to them, they don't give a damn). Point in case: look at the games and DVDs in rental stores. You rent a 1 week old movie and the disc looks like it was scratch with sandpaper!

Also, it happened to me a couple of times. I let one of my friend borrow me something, then when I want it back I called him and the reply was "well it's at this guy's house, should get it next week". F*** this!

CD games I am very careful with... only close friends who I know are careful do I let load in or change games. Cart systems, back in the day I didn't really care, the only cart system I have right now is the MVS and that just depends on the condition of the cart. If the cart is minty (and I have a few) I am ULTRA careful loading it into the MVS trying to keep it nice, but most of my games look like they were cleaned with sandpaper soooo I really don't care. I have OCD though, so, it sometimes drives me crazy if I put a tiny scratch on something... it sucks... But I am getting better,

I have to know someone for a really long time and really like them to even think about lending them stuff. I wouldn't let my girlfriend of one and a half years borrow my stuff. I the only one that handles any of my game stuff around here, and I get really fucking pissy when other people touch it.

I have to admit that I'm extremely anal about all of my games. I regularly piss off ppl at game stores by making them show me every used game(even if it's like 20 + copies) when in the disc department and inspect for scratches, then either pick the best one that's near mint or to my liking, or say "Sorry, but thanks man... still have any used ones?"

As for my AES, no one dares touch that, just like no one unsheathes Junko my WWII Katana sword my grandfather brought back from the Pacific theatre... for if any touch these without my supervision I just might find myself on the run from the law since no one will ever put me in a cage! So yeah... I'm totally psycho when it comes to my stuff. I even pick up other ppls stuff and put them in their correct jewel cases and what not when visiting friends and lecture them about maintaining their games, only to get "the look" from them that has branded me a psycho in their eyes, but then I can just claim it's my obsessive compulsive part of my Bipolar and I'm off scott free :)
