With Burnout 2 and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 getting such rave reviews, I'm thinking about picking up a PS2 steering wheel if I like them enough. So I need to know which wheel is the absolute cream of the crop? Any advice would be appreciated!

I haven't used it, but the Logitech Force Feedback wheel I've heard is very good.

I have just one more question for you guys? I was looking at some pics of the Logitech wheel and noticed that it doesn't have a manual gear shifter. Instead, it has the buttons used for gear shifting on the wheel itself. Does this in anyway make the wheel feel less realistic? It's just that Mad Catz has a PS2 wheel that's officially licensed by Sony with the gear shifter for just $59.00 and it looks pretty damn good to.

Yeah, and the shifter on the madcatz goes in two directions, up and down <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" /> talk about realism... Besides, depending on the car you are simulating driving the shifter may be on the wheel anyway.

The Logitech Wheel is better.Realistic Fight.
I have 4 of them.It's worth the $100.00
I have Two Gran Turismo 3 Versions and Two Driving Force versions.
I have a list of games thats compatible with the wheel.below..
Note..
The Logitech Wheel connects through the USB port on the PS2.
Other wheels don't connect this way.
The wheel is basically a Computer wheel.
You have to put this on a table for the full affect of it.
The paddles work fine.
I don't use the paddles much because the wheel gives you such a realistic fight that you don't have time to do the shifting.Unless your that good.
I'm currently Playing F1 2002 with it.
Fast Paced, but just plug in the Wheel, don't try to change the wheel position in the controller configuration.
This wheel has no (DEAD) center.
Its always responsive like a race car.
Other wheels click back to the center and that sucks.

The petals are Push Sensitive also.If you push halfway the car only goes that speed.
If you push the Brake lightly the car will slow down but not brake hard unless you press hard.
Other wheels don't do that.(Its really realistic).
I have others too.
I use the wheels a lot,They are durable.
Games that I like using the wheel.
Gran Turismo 3 (Linked)Test Drive PS2,Spint Cars,and F1 2002
Not all games are configured for this Wheel.
Heres a list of compatible games..

I played with the Logitech wheel at Fry's a few times and it feels pretty good.

I use a Logitech Formula Force on my PC and I was very suprised that the PS2 wheel was very close in feel to my PC wheel.

I suppose if I had a reason to buy a wheel for my PS2 I would pick up the Logitec wheel , but im happy playing GT3 with the pad.
