My xbox live impression

Well I'll be playing xbox live for 5 weeks now and I have to say that it's one of the most addicting features the Xbox has to offer. I swear there is nothing more fun then trash talking a person from another state while racing him, playing football, or fragging his ass at the same time. It's a great experience
I first had run some ethernet wire from my xbox to my router which was a pain because I had to nail it across the crevise of my wall. After that you start by putting in your xbox live starter disc, it then tells you to put in your code, which is marked on your cd sleeve, after that you put in your Gamertag(Piccolo wasn't taken..woohoo ) then after that you put in your Credit card information and lastly your Password. Once thats done you don't have to put in anymore info. It's saved onto your HD or if you want a memory for taking it to friend's houses. Also I didn't have to fumble around Ips and gateway numbers, the xbox detected everything and installation came out flawless

After that I reseted the xbox and played revolt. When it started up it immedatly said user id "Piccolo" ? I pressed A, put in my passcode (which are the buttons of the controller like a b a y x) and I was in. I went to Quick Match found a hosted room and once you get in you can automatically start talking with the host and the other people in that room using the headset. The response time is 1-2 seconds off but other then that the voice comes out clear and crisp, like talking into a cell phone.

I didn't notice alot of lag during my games but some of the annoying parts were if a person left, his vehicle would stay there until the host stop hosting and started up a new room. Another thing is that sometimes the game;s framerate would drop like to 20fps which would lead to being unplayable or freezing the game. But of course this is a beta. I know that the Moto-GP demo has fixed the dead players by ghosting them so you won't hit them and they added a Kick feature to kick out those annoying people with the voice mask.

Speaking of voice mask the feature itself is excellent, but some of them are freaking annoying, like cartoon and child. They'll make your ears bleed if they shout into the mic.

Overall my whole experince with xbox live has been excellent, I HIGHLY reccomend it to people that have an xbox and broadband. Microsoft has made it so simple and convient that nothing can compare to it. Be sure to pick this baby up at your local videogame store once it hits the shelves. It is quite an addicting experience.

I should put your gamertag in my friends list.

My tag is: 'Bishamon' (go figure) ;)

XBox Live rocks! :)

I've been addicted to MotoGP since it arrived earlier this week. It's the best Live game yet!

Headset looks cool. Saw a pic for it in a pamphlet at work.

The one thing that bothers me is that I'm prolly gonna have to end up shelling out for a router so I can be online with my computer and my Xbox (and/or PS2) at the same time. This kinda sucks for me 'cuz just over a month ago I dropped $40 on a new hub that had more ports on it.

Anywho, I'm looking forward to Xbox Live and I'm really excited if they can get guys like Sega and Capcom to commit alot to it.

Very cool! Thanks for the update Piccolo. I've been really getting into Socom lately, so I'm excited to see what other on-line possibilities are out there. I've never played much on-line before except for Everquest and UO.
