<a href="http://www.activision.com/games/doom2/" target="_blank">DOOM II GBA OFFICIAL SITE</a>

The flash intro for this is AWESOME. The site claims that all of the original levels will be included (although I'd be quite surprised if the two Wolfenstein levels are included), and it's about time! The PSX/Saturn versions were missing more than a few.

The site also claims that there will be 17 varieties of monsters. Not counting the final boss or the SS Guards, there are 17 varieties in the PC original. Which two will be cut? The original DOOM for GBA was missing both of the boss monsters. Cutting the Cyberdemon again would be lame; it's on the box!

The original DOOM GBA was impressive, outside of using the same two lame levles that originated on the PSX ("HELL GATE" and "HELL KEEP"). This one looks to be using the same engine, and once again it has the god-awful green blood (see it in one of the screenshots).

Still, if it can indeed pull off even the 30 non-secret levels, and 17 monsters, I'll be sold.

"Let the obsession begin. Again."

I own the first on GBA, and I wasn't TOO impressed with the frame rate. I wonder, has anyone played Duke Nukem? I hear it runs very well. How do the two compare? I would love to see Doom2 if they impoved that... and maybe did something with the play control.

First released in 1993, DOOM went on to set the standard for hardcore combat and edge-of-your-seat scare effects. DOOM II followed, selling over 1.5 million copies worldwide and establishing id Software as the name in all-consuming action-shooters.

Pretty soon they might even port Final Doom.

It's already happened, it went to the PSX. That verison was a port of not only Final DOOM, but DOOM II: Master Levels as well. That's a well of 85 maps. Sadly, only 30 were converted.
