I know there must be some fans of this series out there...come out!

IMHO this is one of the most under-rated anime series I've come accross. FYI it's from the same people who made Tenchi Muyo! and contains many of the same elements (most notably the many girls after one clueless guy syndrome). Yet, at almost every turn El Hazard has Tenchi Muyo! beat. Why that series is the more popular I'll never know...

I wrote a review, if anyone is interested: <a href="http://www.btinternet.com/~huxley_boredom/a_review_elhazard.html" target="_blank">http://www.btinternet.com/~huxley_boredom/a_review_elhazard.html</a>

Yeah I'm a fan to. I got all three OAV & the tv series also. To tell the truth the first Oav was the best & it ended the series pretty well, the whole paradox thing. I don't like Tenchi as much

Count me in. I found the OVA series MUCH better than the Wanderers TV series (the opening theme song was the only thing good about it). Jinnai has to be one of the greatest villains in all of anime history. He's like Wile E. Coyote; he never gives up, no matter how badly he's beaten/humiliated, and he won't stop until Makoto's bowed before him. That, and there's the laugh.

Actually, I am also an El-Hazard fan. I liked the original OVA and the way it ended better than the other parts of the series. I have the DVD Boxset, and anyone who has it, I am talking about the original OVA on the first 2 discs. Wanderers was OK, but I personally didn't like the way they changed some of the characters (*cough*Ifurita*cough*).

Not everything can be perfect I suppose.

I've never seen any of the other series, but I think I'll avoid them

Totally, Jinnai is one the greatest badguys of all time! Just what Tenchi Muyo! was missing IMHO. Anyone with his laugh was born to be a villain ;)
