Why do my turnips spoil after 5 minutes?

Why do my turnips spoil like 5 minutes after I buy them? This is the third time I have tried to buy them, but they always spoil within minutes of purchasing them. What am I doing wrong?

Sorry, can't help you. The only reason I go outside is for Baseball.

I don't play the stalk market any more.

I honestly don't know, are you leaving it in your basement? That doesn't sound like a good idea to begin with.

The stalks shouldn't wilt until 1 week from the time your purchased them.

Keep them in your inventory or in a letter in your carried letters. Maybe that'll help.

The only plus side is this is the only way you can catch ants, so grab one before you throw away the rotted stalks.

I do keep them in my inventory. I buy them, walk around for a couple minutes, and they are spoiled. Its really frustrating.

That's odd as hell. I've never heard anything like that.

Honestly? Don't worry about it. Unless you intend to do some dishonest things for an easy bell, the Stalk Market really isn't THAT big.

You can pay off your house with knifejaws, coelcanthes and trips to the island.

I know what you're saying though, I'd be bothered if it just did it for no reason too.
