Ellen Feiss? Is she the long-lost cousin of Heidi Fleiss? IQ sounds about the same...

Macs are great for people who have no idea how to use a computer and/or dont want to learn.
Or just want their choices made for them so they dont have to worry about thinking .
And yes Mac OS is just as crash prone as a Windows PC is.
I personally think Macs are ok , I just like to tweak my computers constantly { new hardware as it evolves } so for me a Mac is a really bad investment and also very boring as computers go.

And if you are not an Audio or Video guy, then there is no reason to have one. I mean to be completly honest here, why own a Mac if you are a PC person who wants to just play games or etc. Macs are only really good for graphics and audio professionals or hobbiests... I try to be very fair with macs, but growing up and always having one I always had to compromise for programs on the PC... And if you are just a regular computer user who doesn't want to invest time in finding solutions on the Mac, then they are not for you. I believe your statement was a little backwords, basicly Mac users have to know EVERYTHING about their computer, for when they have a problem, no one has any idea how to fix it. Hardly any support desks know anything about macs, no really good books... etc, etc...
Mac users have to learn to be self sufficient and know where to go for software and hardware solutions. Plus upgrading a mac is just as easy as a PC, there is no difference. They use the same RAM, HDs, CD-R/RW, DVD drives, monitors, keyboards, mice, etc as PCs that stuff just plugs in and works, no problems, no drivers... Most even take all video and sound cards from PCs, you just have to hope someone wrote drivers for them or write your own... The only thing that is harder to upgrade is the CPU and MB, but those can be found online and on ebay and other like places. I just think you don't really have a clue when it comes to Macs, and I don't blame you, not a lot of people do.
Macs, they are constant work... and like I said, if you really don't need them, then why bother... but at the same time, they are far from useless, un-upgradable, crappy machines![]()

Amen to that. I hate it when people put down the Mac just cause they don't know how to use one.

"Crapintosh"? I'm probably going to get modded for this, but that seems a bit immature.
Personally, I will very likely make the switch to a Mac some time soon. I had a 7200 as a hobby, and I hardly had any trouble with it at all, even after giving it a Firewire/USB card, a 3d accelerator, a 10 GB 1394 drive, and a G4 upgrade. I've had more trouble with IE than I should be. Mainly that whenever it crashes, it takes just about everything else with it. MS' coding strategy for Windows as of late seems to have been "Incest is best." Integrating IE, integrating Media Player, integrating Messenger... It all sounds like a good idea on paper, but it tends to create many problems, including having to worry about how fixing a problem related to IE will affect Media Player, how the fix to the MP problem will affect Outlook, etc.
Meanwhile, I wouldn't trust XP if my life depended on it. (in fact, I think the EULA for Windows forbids using it for life-or-death situations or something). There's just too much in that system that's highly suspect: the product activation, the integration of Messenger into the kernel, and some more.
Incidentally, the only problems with my 7200 were with the G4 upgrade (the first one was defective; the company that made it actually replaced it for free--even though I had bought the item on Ebay. How's that for customer service? (That doesn't relate to Apple, but I still think it's awesome, and would recommend Sonnet Technologies for your Mac-upgrading needs.) and the odd Type 2 error (out of memory), which could be due to the programs running (Deus Ex is a notorious memory hog
).
