This from Penny Arcade.

I'm too distraught about this Tony Hawk 4 thing.

Tony Hawk 3 on the Xbox didn't support online play, and I wasn't crazy about that but I came to terms with it. It simply came out too early to have that feature, there was no infrastructure yet, so whatever. But no Xbox Live support in Tony four? Unacceptable.

When they were making Tony Hawk 4, they may have had an Xbox or two around. They might have seen a scary hole on the back, and like dogs perhaps cocked their heads with fear and mute curiosity. Let me clear up any lingering mystery: it's a network port. To connect to networks. Like the Internet. To play games. I see that they support the network option on the Playstation 2, which requires seperate hardware altogether. Pretty classy.

Fucking lame for the X-Box owners out there.

The moral of this story is that ports suck.
The other moral is that true gaming happyness can only be acheved by owning all 3 current consoles.
Enjoy!

Dammit, this does suck balls. The Neversoft rep at E3 said it would be XBox-Live ready. I'm already balls deep, buying the GC shit to play PSO (mainly because of most of my friends owning Cubes to play it on as well) and buying the XBox Live kit. I sure as hell aint sporting another $40 to buy Sony's network adaptor. Oh well.

THPS4 is still going to be the shit though.

you could say the same thing about capcom not having online play for the ps2 versions of CvS2 and MvC2. <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" />

actually I hear mvc2 is gonna have it but capcom vs snk 2 deserves it WAY more. It's a classy game of skill that you can take your combos wherever you want as long as you can come up with them. it dosen't have infintes or lame crap like that, it's a gentlemen's game. in my opinion marvel vs capcom 2 is a bitch's game because people who play that all are whiners in my opinion

If Tony Hawk 4 has the system link feature like #3 had on Xbox it wont be so bad because you can play it on Xbox Connect NOW and not in a month. The best thing is that it's free. (Xbox connect that is) If you havent checked out this great program I sugguest that you do now. Halo is great on it.

So it doesn't have online. Yeah that does suck, but I still think Neversoft rules.

I mean...when was the last time they made a bad game?

Total and absolutely bullshit that it doesn't support online in this day and age. Inexcusable.

They still kick ass.

Who cares, Tony Hawk has always been a 1 player game, where you compete for scores, like Crazy Taxi, it doesn't take anything away from the game, I've never even used multi player in 3.

You just load in your own music and have free skate sessions. I won't be getting 4 regardless, it's just 3 with new stages.

Funny, but both Tonly Hawk 2X and Tony Hawk 3 supported online play through GameSpy Arcade and XBConnect. I assume Tony Hawk 4 will work the same way.

Sure, maybe it should support XBox Live, but I'll still be able to play it online.

What are you saying, that B1942 is NOT online? I will be pissed if that's the case. Why bring it out on the box at all.
