I have Fist of the North Star DVD which is out-of-print now in US.
It's English dubbed (no Japanese language option), full-screen.

I don't know why they don't release original Japanese language.....hmmm....

Yes, I saw Jap TV series as well but in original Japanese with Chinese subtitle.

also manga usa are releasing the eps on dvd starting in march this year <IMG SRC="smilies/makeface.gif" border="0">

I'm a big fan myself of Hokuto No Ken. I have the entire first series manga. I also have the Japanese movie on vhs.
uhh oh yeah. I have a Kenshiro and a Rei figure (not the 2000x)

Also I have the game for PSX the newer one which u got that pic from. Has anyone unlocked Toki or Raoh? I beat the game but to beat those guys without losing is too hard. If I got a game shark I could cheat and unlock everybody. Maybe I'll get it.

Hokuto no ken is my fav anime serie. I followed it on TV when I was a kid and now I've bought most of the episode of the first serie.

i managed to unlock everyone apart from raoh. i managed to beat him in all 3 fights but still didnt get him. <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

Does it the punch ball style arcade game?

yeh you have to punch pads in order to kill someone. when it gets to the 100 crack bit you look like some loonie trying to beat up the actual machine.

did you see the crappy manga dubs? if so i can understand. at least on dvd youll get to see the subtitled version which is 10x better.

Aw hell yeah! Tetsuo Hara is the man! I've got the entire Japanese Hokuto no Ken graphic novel collection (27 volumes if memory serves), and all the English comics that were brought out as well. I didn't get too many TV episodes, since it got harder than hell to find the subtitled versions on VHS, but I'm glad to hear those episodes are gonna hit DVD, with the subtitle option.

Here's a question I have though. Has anybody seen the manga "Takehi Ryusei"? For some reason, I got this sneaking suspicion that it could be a prequel to the Hokuto no Ken series. Of course, if I could read Japanese (rather than just drool over the cool art), I could know for sure.

Fist of the North Star kicks the crap out of almost everything! Still haven't seen beyond vol. 3 of the TV series but I've seen the movie & played some of the games (I also really like the arcade boxing one).

Nothing competes with that kind of martial arts psychoticness!! and it's fucking funny too! Well, one of the big guns of 1986 it was. And THAT's why it's still so popular today, eh?
