Man, after seeing some of your guys pics of your rooms, im just curious; have you ever had a girl in there?! ;)

I know i know; but im not trying to be an asshole. im just honestly curious if you had a girl in your room [game room]...what the hell did she say? did she just immediately leave?

I know, girls like that are shallow and you shouldnt deal with them, etc. but those're the girls with loose belts.

ps: this isnt a thread for nerdy guys with nerdy girlfriends to brag about how their girlfriend accepts their nerdiness. this is thread for EMBARRASSING STORIES ONLY!!!!!

See Kid Aphex the problem with this theory is the somewhat unrealistic notion that many of the members of this board actually get to a point with a girl where she actually has the opportunity to see their collections. You got to actually *find* a girl before you have the chance to scare her off with your childish obsessions.

I think of the half dozen or so non-family females who have seen my collection, they are kind of expecting it...generally speaking most hardcore collectors have certain...how should I say..character traits that kind of go hand and hand with the hobby.

The real key is to be yourself before you bring them home..that way they are scared off well in advance.

Well Kid Aphex, I like to think I've got a large collection of games in my room, I have the biggest collection of anyone I know at least.

If you want an embarrassing story, one time I was hanging out with a couple friends. One was a girl and the other two were guys and I don't even remember how it started but of like 2 minutes non stop he rambled off some of the meanest comments I've ever heard. It was all the girl could do to keep form crying and just an awkward time for everyone except the prick making the comments.

Anyway I also like to think I've had good experiences with girls being in my room, never scared anyone away. I will admit that I'm a very lucky guy though. I've been with my girlfriend for almost 2 year and now that it's getting time to go to college we've been talking about moving out together. What I mean about being lucky is that my girl has all the good qualities most people just dream of finding in a girlfriend. She's smart, she gets along with everyone and she's certainly nice to look at, as Kid Aphex put it "girls with loose belts." She was a girl I thought was WAY out of my league before we started hanging out.

And when it comes to my games and game playing she is very understanding. She's always up for playing some Bust-A-Move on my cab or Gradius on PCEngine. And when it's time to get frisky, well I won't go into detail, I'm just glad I have a large bed :D Yeah, I'd say I have a super girlfriend :)

All my life I have had video games. Not just a few but a crap load of them. I currently own around 40 systems and well... I'm not even going to start counting my games.

Through all that time I have never once had an embaresing moment with girls in my room. I don't see why anyone would. A video game is nothing to be ashamed of. Ususally when people see my collection they are just in aww.

Even the most popular kid back in the day played video games and I'm sure still does. Even girls play video games. Sure they are few to none but every girl I have know has at least been hooked on games like Super Mario, Tetris, or Dr. Mario.

That's pretty impressive. You worked Bust-A-Move, Gradius, and sex ("with a girl" -Road Trip) into one paragraph!!!!

Well, my wife was pretty cool with videogames (she liked puzzle games and vertical shooters, of all things).

However, we got divorced after 6 years of marriage and one of her compaints was that I spent too much money on videogames and not enough on 'important' things, so there you go. ;)

Anyways, I have a new girl I've been with for over a year, and we plan to keep our money separate, so there won't be a problem. :D

I once met a girl that was only into me because of my collection, I wasn't really into her though. Still, she gave me a better TV so I would enjoy my games more, which was cool.

Hmmm, yeah, I've had some strange looks off girls but it can be fun trying to persuade them it can be fun - thats what Samba de Amigo is for.

Heh, girls don't see my games. I'm off at college and most of my stuff is still at home.

good topic.

My girlfriend deals with everything pretty well. She like games, but is not a nut about it. She loves the DC and she's well into IllBleed.

It took her a while to understand the obsession with getting lots of games and if I buy her one occasionally, she's happy.

I'm a IT pro, so like most hardcore IT guys, I have a house FULL of technology. I have the bottom floor of my house, and she has the top two. We have a nice understanding about it. ;)

I had some cabs in my apartment/fraternity house in college, and girls usually liked playing, if only for a few minutes.

I really think the geeky-game stigma is going away.

My room is like a set-up.

There's absolutely nothing in it but this sleek black furniture and a tv and a stereo. Its all black and white, and very simplistic looking. I'm OCD, so i can't stand garbage everywhere.
Even my closet is compeltely empty, save for 10 shirts and a few pairs of pants.

It's in the drawers of the dresser that the TV is on, that all my games on. All my Duo, DC, PS2, Neo, N64, NES etc etc etc Games.

This is a pretty good move; at least they odnt just look at posters of "VIRTUA FIGHTER 2" on my wall and run out screaming. Once I got to know her, I would introduce her to my collection one drawer at a time...Any given moment, ONE drawer stacked with games can be open. This prevents sensory overload.

But yeah a lot of you guys were right, there are some girls out there who are a great mix. I was dating this hot chick who was totally into games and sex; and thats about it. It wsa a short but fun relationship. But now, i've met my wife; and she understands and can play along with my obsession.

uhhh i can't get girls. they don't like me, they see a fatguy with sideburns and automaically class me out. though i'm a nice funny guy they turn away. so i became a pompus asshole. and now everyone leaves me alone. i just hope i don't end up like bruce vilanche. eeewwww. when i talk to girls i like i get nervous or i find we have nothing in common at all so there's nothing to talk about. plus almost all girls are WAAAY outta my league. thank god for porno.

Nah man, I was always that cool, sleek gamer.. If a girl was ever in my room back in high school, she was drunk and/or the lights were out.

Whenever they woke up the next day I always told them it was my little brothers room and I was too cool to have a room because I was always out partying hardcore.

I've only had one girl my room, and at first she was just like "whatever", but after a while I got her into gaming a bit. We used to play NGPC together all the time.

Now the bitch is a slutty cheating bitch bag of contaminated puss, so I don't really give a shit what she thinks about my game collection anymore.
