Went to Toys R Us and got warped back to the 80s

Went to the local Toys R Us today to get the newest Star Wars figures for my best friend and BLAM ! right before my very eyes there it was !

The original Transformers Ultra Magnus toy .
"a re-issue of course" but it has the original packageing and everything ! looks almost like the original ...only difference I saw was that the exaust pipes on the truck cab were shortened .

It was the only re-issue available ((trust me I asked the employees)) but on the box it has pictures of Optimus and Roddimus so I can only hope that those are coming out too .

I didnt purchase it because it was a whopping 39.95 . If they re-release Jetfire ...I will be first in line .

Optimus has come and gone, Grand Rodimus or whatever they are calling him is not out yet.

Toys R' US.com has had preorder links up for a while.

I saw the Optimus Prime re-release last week at a local Toys R Us. I picked it up and noticed the body of the figure was made out of hard plastic instead of die cast metal.

The store also had the Rodimus Prime but that figure had two odd things about it. First, it wasn't the Rodimus Prime figure packaged but the Hot Rod figure. Also his name was not Rodimus Prime but Rodimus Something-or-other (I don't recall but it clearly wasn't Prime).

I imagine the jets like Starscream and characters like Shockwave and prolly the Constructicons/Devastator will get releases. I'm gonna bet against Hasbro issuing a re-release of Megatron though what with all the paranoia over guns yadda yadda yadda <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" /> . As for Jetfire...I dunno. I liked the figure when it came out but being a huge Macross fan, I'd just as soon shell out for the real deal and get me a VF-1S Strike Valkyrie made outta die cast metal <img src="graemlins/mrt2.gif" border="0" alt="[Mr T]" /> .

All three are out I have them, they are really hard to find, optimus was also $40, and rodimus major(hot rod) is $17 trust me they are all out, I can't wait for wave 2 of theose and wave 3 of the GI joe vs cobra 200X line

original is not always the way to go. granted the new transformers toyline, armada, sux but look at the new he-man toys. hate to say it but it is way cooler than the original. plus re-issue give those who dont have the toy, a chance to own it . i dont mind if my optimus prime goes down in price because of the re-issue. i collect stuff for the joy, not the value.

I make it a case to visit the Toys R Us
store in my old hometown, couple times a year.
Call it childish if you will, but I call it a
desperate push to hang onto every remnant left
of my childhood before the wrath of adulthood
snatches it away for good.

I visit every Holiday. Just stroll across the
rows of toys... and reflect. I think what it
would be like if I were ten years younger; these
then would be the toys I would beg my parents
to buy.

Did you really like the New He-man line?
I think thier god Awfull, I was looking at some of them with a Friend yesterday at a local mall and we both looked at each other and were like ugh, We both then laughed and said" Boy Theres just no inovation now a days" Hasbro needs money so I guess they had to Re-sort to the Toys of our Child days. Funny thing is most the people buying the toys are those already Familiar with the Products and Mad Toy hoarding collectors. The worst part of the He-man Figures Is the Head , He-mans Head looks like a bad anime Characters head. The old Muscle bound body and huge rubber head Rules anyday. Now if I can only find my battle Clash Skeletor,

Jetfire was cast from the macross toy line. So he didn't look anything like the cartoon version.
